Lund bug deflector problem

Got a Lund Interceptor in the clear finish. Had it painted to match body color. Picked it up from the body shop that painted it, looked ok. Sat in garage a day or two on a dog bed which was on a old truck box. Put it on yesterday. Looks good from the front, but the very top edge is warped in a few places. Is that most likely a defect or did it happen when they painted it? You can't tell till you look at it from the side (across the hood from left to right) or if the light hits it just right, from the a perfect angle, while looking at it from the front. It looks like a slightly dented hood would look like.

I will post pics tonight.

I have the same LUND deflector (radiant silver now) and mine is also like this. Prior to paint I tried to heat and relax waves but was not sucessful. As you stated, its not very noticable except from the side looking across the edge. I tend to let stuff like that bother me but after a few days I hardly notice and it looks alot better than the smoked would have against the light color of the truck.

Heres the warping I was talking about. Have to be at this exact angle to see.
Not happy but it does blend in really well from all other angles and light conditions.

I painted my gas tank on my motorcycle & had a slight run on the bottom edge, it bugged me big time. I bought that rubber door edge trim that happens to fit nicely over say an 1/8in, it finished it out perfectly while covering the run. Perhaps a red piece of door edge trim protector thing-stuff would cover the top wave?
