Splash guards and pre 12/15/03 production?

I really like and want the splash guards. However, my Titan was born in 11/03. I understand the splash guards are "not recommended" for vehicles produced before 12/15/03 and after contacting 2 dealer part deparments, still don't know "why".

Has anyone with a truck pre-dating this cut off tried using the splash guards? Or know why we can't?

Thanks, gang ...

Mine is 12/13/03 and came with the guards. Except for the crappy tape they used to install them, no problems.

Mine has the same crappy tape problem. If you resolved this problem, how?

Stopped at an aftermarket auto shop. They gave me 2 pieces of body molding tape. Swabbed the area with alcohol, and it is stuck well now. The dealer can also handle it.

I knew ya'll would know ...

I knew ya'll would know far more than those parts deparments. Thanks so much ... I'm going to check into it all now. And, of course, educate my dealership.
