Adding exhaust tips on stock exhaust

Has anyone added tips on to the stock exhaust. It looks like you would have to cut the end of the exhaust off because of the way it is bent??? or do the tips fit over this some how??

The exit pipe is 3". I have the 3" Borla (with cooling fins) and it fit right over it. Slide it over the existing, decide how much you want it to stick out and cut. How much you need to cut depends on how long the new tip is. Mine didn't require welding (2 screws, very clean, not visible) and it does change the sound (deeper).

I don't have any pics yet. I shopped around quite a bit to find the best price and found http://www.ajusa.com/cgi-bin/borla/tips have the best price, around $70. Other places sell them for up to $110. Mine has model number 20122.

I can take a pic if you still want to see it.

I looked on the site you referenced and that's a nice looking tip. Being how you mentioned you just mounted the tip with two screws do you feel that is sufficient? Is it loose or does it vibrate in any way?

When I did mine my installer suggested the Magnaflow tips, and I really like them. They are SS. Check out www.completeexhaust.com- they had really good prices and they got my order out the same day.

I actually wanted it to be welded just for a piece of mind but it's been over 2 months and I can't find a reason to.
