so....i dont know how the stock radio is installed...will i need aditional hardware to mount the aftermarket one? Any other information I might need? any heads up on some time saving tips/tricks?
I checked Nissan's web site, and it says $200 for the service manual, not $20. I know others have said they downloaded the manual for $20 from Nissan, so they must have raised the price.

$200?!?!?!?! you gotta be F'n kiddin me.
With my VW i got a full bently manual that basicly coverd every nut n bolt and wiring schematic of the car for $40....and that was a paper back book about 3" thick.
nissan has to be out of their mind to charge $200 for that.
anyways, sorry to vent, but back on subject....
For reference, here is a link to the universal mounting kit/cubby hole piece as described above:

Nope- you're looking at the CD version that's $200 smackers. 20 bucks buys you a look "on line " at the manual in PDF format - icon looks like a eyeball. You can download/save that by section (43 files) for 20 bucks/1 day subscription. Caution - some of the files/sections are big so don't try with dial up unless you have all day.

yep you will need the manual as I doubt that those connectors will match the current titan color coordination (lloking at the pic--I know they dont match, and believe me the service manual is a godsend. to access the page to download the manual ( you have to setup a login account name first. I would post it, but the AV section is 2.45mb--

That kit may work but it is a single DIN, you really need a double DIN. A kit that works is Metra 99-741 Univeral Nissan. I just used that one to install a Blaupunkt in my KC LE. This provides a single DIN opening plus a pocket to fill up the extra space in the dash. Use the side mounting brackets that give you a distance from the back of the mounting ears to the front of the mounting bracket of just a little less than 2.5 inches. You will have to drill a hole in each of the mounting ears to allow for the alignment pins that are between the mounting holes in the dash. Also there are a number of mount 'ears' that must be cut off the bracket in the kit for it to fit - a dremel tool is very handy for this.
The air bag warning light will blink if the plug is removed from the light on the bezel and the ignition key is turned on. If the ignition is off while you unplug the light connector and remains off until you replug into the new bezel, it should not be a problem. Even if it does blink after your installation, there is a method described in the FAQ thread for resetting the warning indicator - it worked for me.
Use the wiring info that came on the package for the wiring harness from Crutchfield and there will be no problem there. The harness is plug and play. The only colors you need to match up are the wires out of the harness to those of your head unit. Once that is wired, plug into the Nissan plugs removed from the Nissan head unit and you are good to go.
good luck on the install - it will sound much better when you are done.

Thanks for the clarification. Where on can I find the online manual on the Nissan web site? I looked all over for it and can't find it.

so what is it guys? will this harness work or not?

With the wiring harness which has mating sockets for the plugs in the dash there is no need to know the wire colors in the Nissan dash harness.
If you were going to tap into the Nissan harness without using the adapters then you would need to know the pinouts (wire colors) of the in-dash connectors. But this is not your case.

thats what i suspected, but smoketitan said that the wires on the wiring harness are not right ....and that he could tell just by looking at them....

Just for info: I installed a Blaupunkt head in my KC LE using the same wiring harness you will be using. Prior to this vehicle I have had the same radio in two other Nissan vehicles, I made no wiring changes on the adapter harness. All speakers, power etc. work as required.
Since I have the Fosgate radio and its pitiful amp, it was necessary to do some strapping at the amp connector to get the speakers to 'play through', but the mid-level radio you have does not have an external amp, therefore the strapping I had to do is not something you have to consider.
Enjoy your new radio.
By the way - which head unit will you be using?

Thanks for the info!
I will be using the Kenwood MPV-6022
This is the deck i had in my VW....reason i went with it is because its color scheme closest matched the blue/red theme of the OEM dash lighting.
its Sirius ready with mp3 n such....i already have the reciever and antenna....paying the $40 for the bezel and $14 for the wiring harness beats the $370 for the OEM XM reciever and antenna
