an alternative to those who try to send and recieve emails via treo's or blackberrys..haha i dont know how many times ive seen people almost wreck because of that!

on a side note...4 bills and you can flip the laptop to the back for your guests to watch a movie on road trips.

Re: Laptop Bracket

uhm you can just go buy jotto desk from anywhere else. i don't see how this is of any use...

but let me tell you something about the mounts pictured.

you cannot mount them as shown in the titan. so they will take up space in the passenger seat area, not sure about the models without center console.

edit: ok i see you have the one that goes onto the bolts. but the above remains correct for all of the mounts that use screws to mount to sheet metal.

but for 340$.. ouch! mine was free

it is rock solid. I have only had mine for a few weeks but my buddy uses one in his GMC work van and loves it with no torubles.

Their is no wobble, creeks, or flimsy feeling. it is quality built

Re: Laptop Bracket

found another link for several different layouts.

http://www.ram-mount.com/pdf/vehiclelaptopmounts2.pdf

I have also found this other solution which seems to be screwless/no drill mount to hook my tablet to the dash of the car for less than $100.

I told some friends about this and they never let me forget the GEEK in me.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u..._navigate.mspx

UPDATE:

I went ahead and ordered the clips from www.proclipusa.com . I got the center mount, move clip and swivel mount..came to just under $70.

Used AMEX that way if I dont like it...and they dont take a return, AMEX has 100% satisfaction. Ground shipping so I should get it in a week.

Re: Laptop Bracket

Thanks for the heads up...Now ill just have to figure out a way to protect them a little more. (maybe line it with some clear tape)

Were they durable? Would you hang a ~6lb tablet off of it?

clear tape should work.. i like using the mossy strip of the velcro tape.. it's like carpet and has worked for me.

no i wouldn't hang anything heavier than maybe 1lbs from a vent... i haven't tried though so maybe if they sell it, it works.

Re: Laptop Bracket

Installed Ram-mount this week after reading this thread. Great item, as good as Jotto I'm sure. Highly recommend it as a real quality piece, you won't break this thing too easily. Very sturdy.

Holding a 12.1" Notebook now, considering long term alternatives of 10" Tablet or even 7" UMPC for portability sake. 10" Touch screen with a HP small format Tower under seat may be interesting too. Could Mod the Ram for less height if semi permanent mount of a touch screen/Tower system.
