I've been pondering the idea of painting the interior part of the headlight assembly black. On the 02+ Altima we where able to bake the assembly for a few minutes then pry the lense off the main housing. Anyone with a Service manual able to post how the assembly mounts together? If anyone is confussed about my idea here is an example of a headlight from an Altima here
Did this to my Prelude. painted the inside white to match exterior of car. You will lose some light reflection, obviously, and your lights won't be as bright. Also, the housing seemed to heat up more. The reflective surface works for heat as well as light so I guess that makes sense. I'm sure the effects were even more dramatic with black.
I looked in the SM for you, 30 pages of wiring diagrams, installation/removal, and aiming... not one mention of disassembly. The troubleshooting guide just says "replace" in reference to any problems with the actuall headlamp housing assembly. Seems that is like my Prelude (and every other car) not meant to take it apart. ... Shouldn't stop the willing though
Lots of kids were baking their Civic's lenses in high school/college to take the covers off and scrape out the amber in the corners. I don't think I would try it on my truck unless I had a spare set of headlights sitting around. They are pretty expensive from parts dept.
Don't expect anything anytime soon. It took almost 2 years for someone to produce aftermarket headlights for my 02 Altima. Don't get me wrong, I love my truck but all the chrome is a little too flashy for me.
how do you get that black outline in the lights? what paint do you use?

Feimrte, as stated in my post, those pictures are of TITANH's truck, Not mine!
I would not put all that shiny stuff on my truck, NO WAY!!!! hehe...
Those pics of his truck I posted so you could see the headlight covers he installed. I don't have the covers, I don't like them. I won't get them. I would consider a different headlamp though.
You would have to ask TITANH if he got them painted.
As llajumpvid stated my truck & the light-cover are both smoke. I did not have them painted. The light-cover only comes in smoke (but yes, u can paint it to match your trucks color) Also, that is actually a very decent price, I paid 89.95 for mine.
Oh and pciley, nice to know what u really think of my truck. But I know we all have our diferent opinions about the chrome. Some love the shiny chrome, some want just the right amount, & some cant stand it. I just happen to be a huge fan of the chrome

Sorry didn't mean to hurt your feelins.. All that matters is that you like it. Maybe I'm just jelous you have running lamps .
It must take you forever to wash though, without leaving water spots all over the shiny stuff.
My favorite addition to your truck's exterior has to be the hood scoop, hands down!
Once a blower is available, I'll try to find a shorter cowl and face the opening to the front, cut the hole in the hood for a ram-air, .... ideas...
No harm done here. I still love my chrome regardless of others' personal opinion about it. I'm sure there are others out there that feel the same about their chrome accents. And yes it does take quite a bit of time to wash my truck then follow up w/ chrome polish to get rid of any water spots. But I love every minute of it.
Whenever ram air does become an option I will definetly go that route also. I may consider getting a whole 1 piece hood & ram air scoop unit (depending on the cost). Besides I'm not too sure about cutting into my hood. Until the real ram air becomes an option for our truck, I'm pretty happy w/ the simulated look. I think it adds to the bold look that the Titan alrdy has

Just looking through your pictures on the other thread again.. Is that a vent shade on your rear window? If so, is it beneficial? Does it at all help with the reflections coming off the dash onto the rear window?
