Hard Cover Tonneau options, I know about ARE, but what else is there?

Hi fellas

I know about the ARE Tonneau, and frankly I think for the money it is a pretty good deal and stylish, however at this point in my life I can't justify putting the 2.5" daystar lift in the front to level out the beast (which I think dramatically would increase the appeal of that tonneau)

basically i like it but it sits up so high above the bedrails i don't want to increase the (ant-eater effect is what i like to call it of the titan)

so in a nutshell what else is out there hard-tonneau's that is that is more low-profile, what are your experiances with and how does it compare $-wise with the ARE?

thanks again!!!!

Hi Poblocks:

I know there are some low profile hard-tonneau out there but I'm not sure they have ever come around to making one for the Titan? Maybe some of the others here will know for sure. I have the ARE and I just put a tape measure on it and it sits about 4" above the rails for what that's worth. You are correct that the lift would enhance the line-of-sight. I have grown used to it and depending on your height it may bother some more than others. Good luck in your search!

Love My Titan!

Here is a post about a fiberglass cover by checkerpro. It is relatively inexpensive, low profile and looks pretty good. I'm considering putting one on my truck, but haven't done so yet.

Glasstite makes one called the breeze. I have been waiting four months for them to get the designing done, but it is supposed to be in next week. In my opinion it looks better than the A.R.E. because it doesn't have the big bump in it. A.R.E. tries to match the contour of the hood of the truck it is made for which I think is ugly. The breeze is $700 and that includes the carpeting underneth. http://www.glasstite.com
