Midline Audio FYI
Being and audio enthusiast for over 20 years now I have decided to start investigating my Titan for an upgrade. For the first time in history I will be leaving the stock unit in place because of all the toys it offers such as rear seat controls etc......
My upgrade path is going to be a 5 or 6 channel amplifier, new speakers all the way around, and a VERY custom sub box that will dissapear into the truck somewhere. I have not decided quite where to put the sub yet but I have a few ideas.
I have decided that 6.75" components will be the choice for the doors and most likely a single good 10 or a pair of 8's for the low end.
Has anyone followed this migration thus far, and if so what components did you decide to go with.
Throughout my investigation so far I have found some interesting facts about the factory system that has pointed me in this direction. I WAS going to just add speakers and a subwoofer amp and sub, BUT the factory door speakers are 2 ohm, and the tweeters in the dash, and rear door are 4 ohm with simple 6 db/octave caps for crossovers. Just simply adding new speaker components I feel will be weak at best That is why I am choosing to add the multi-channel amplification.
Head unit is panasonic, door speakers are panasonic and the tweeters are nissan? Kinda a smattering of product.
I have also taken the truck in to the dealer for the radio problem, and they did indeed admit there is a nationally known problem and a fix is in the works. They explained to me that the antenna is accepting too much interference so that is where the problem lies!?
Thanks for reading and a penny for thoughts.
