How do you name the songs on your CDs?

I want to be able to name the disc and tracks on my CDs. What file do I need to include on my burned CDs so that the radio will pick them up?

I'm no expert

but I just use Nero to burn a CD, and they show up on the radio. Other programs probably do the same.

Do you see the song titles in the program you use to burn the CD's? Most burning software will download the titles etc. from the internet (CDDB).

Have you burned CD's and then didn't get the title on the display?

you can't

far as I know CD players can't do that. The RDDS is a radio thing. MP3 cd's can have track info and mps cd players display them. To bad the cd player isn't a mp3 cd player.

buy a ipod:-)

Oh well, I was hoping there was a data file I could put on the CD to make this work.

You CAN burn a CD and see the title of the cd, the title of the song, etc. Just use your favorite burner software to load some songs from your cd collection. If you are online, the software should recognize the CD's and look up the album and song titles.

Then burn your CD, and the title info will be burned along with it. Most burner programs do this automatically.

Done!

Now play the CD in your Titan, and turn the right-hand knob to select (for instance) 'song title', and your song titles will show up.

Here you go, I didn't realize this was possible until you peaked my interest enough to go look it up.

from page 4-33 of my Armada manual
Display CD text:
to change the text displayed while playing a CD press the AUDIO knob until "display Mode" appears.

Turn the Tuning knob within 2 second. The text will change as follows: Track # - Track Title - Disk Title - Track #

I know how to get it to display the name in the radio. The part I have not figured out yet is how to get the info onto the CD for the radio to read it. There has to be a file or something that is making the CD player display the names.

I found it, in my Roxio CD program anyway. You have to have the Platinum edition to do it. It is under Track>Name Tracks

My Aerosmith honkin on bobo works. It has a few extras on it. One folder called cdplus has a file called SUB_INFO.EN this file has the song names in it. I attached it, you might try putting a folder on your disk called CDPLUS and this file in it. You'll have to edit the names of course and get rid of the .txt extension before you put it on the disk....no clue if this will work or not.
Attached Files
File Type: txt SUB_INFO.EN.txt (534 Bytes, 26 views)

It's all in the IDv3 tags that you can edit with a program called WinAmp. Just right-click on the file in the playlist and write whatever you want.

Windows Media

Windows Media 9 is the easiest and best application. www.microsoft.com/windowsmedia

Microsoft has invested millions of dollars into the technology and best of all - its FREE! And I know for sure that it works on the Titan. You can burn your CD collection to Windows Media Audio format!

One last cool hint - you can download Windows Audio format songs from Walmart.com for 88 cents per song.

you can NOT use .wma files w/ your TITAN CD player. .wma is a compressed format (even smaller than .mp3.) the TITAN will only play music that is in a .wav format. you can rip songs off a CD using windows media player and save them in a .wma format but when you burn them to CD, it converts them to .wav. feel free to correct me, but im pretty sure im right.

Goathead is correct! Also, as a side note, when Media Player burns them to a cd into .wav format, you lose the compression. Whereas you could fit about 100 songs in .wma or .mp3 format onto a cd, you might me lucky and get 15 in the .wav
