use a screwdriver or something to pull apart where i pointed (red), just be careful, the paint scratches easily. use a cloth or something to protect.

just push down on the top with your hands (south), and then pull out at the same time--do not use a screwdriver it will scratch the panel prety bad. it comes off real easy

I just grab mine in the upper left hand corner and pull down & out. It just clips on, then you have to remove the wire connectors for the A/C & heat knobs & air bag light. Four screws hold the HU in place. Be real careful not to drop those into oblivion. I use a magnetized screwdriver.

BTW, if you turn the ignition on with the airbag light disconnected, you will get a blinking airbag dash light. Reset instructions are here:

If you have the airbag light, it will show steady for a few seconds (the manual says 7 secs) after you turn the key from off to on (but not start) and then start to flash. Don't try to look at your watch or count seconds, as that will mess you up. Here is what worked for me:

1. Turn the key from off to on.

2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few secs. and then as soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off instantly.

3. Count to 5 (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi . . . .)

4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle three times.

5. Now turn the key on and watch the light. It will start blinking in a different, slower manner. This is diagnostic mode. You can watch this for a little while, no hurry.

6. Now turn the key off again, Count to 5 like in step 3 again, and turn back on. If the procedure worked, the airbag light will not be flashing.

Depending on the fit you may not be able to pull from the top. On mine I could not get my fingernails in the slot where the bezel and dash meet at the top. (The replacement double DIN bezel has a much wider gap and is easy to pull from the top).
In my case I used a 1/4 inch flat blade screwdriver to pry from the bottom. From the left side of the bezel, I pushed the blade between the bottom of the bezel and the panel holding the power sockets. I then pushed downward on the screwdrive handle which popped the lower left side of the bezel free. It was then a simple matter to work it loose.

I just cannot get my light to reset. I'm wondering if I left the passenger airbag warning light disconnected in the center console.

WHen you are getting this warning light on the dash are you seeing the "Off" lit up for the passnger airbag in the center console?
