Steering wheel controls w/ after market stereo

Is anyone able to continue using the steering wheel controls with an aftermartket stereo? This is the only thing holding me back from upgrading. I know with my Z28 I was able to keep the steering wheel controls using a PAC SW1-x. I wonder if this will work with the Titan?

There's also a universal adapter out that uses an ir emitter to control your aftermarket HU (as long as it came with a remote.)

Not sure which PAC unit, but my shop hooked it up for me (using the IR). Note, PAC had no idea how to hook the Titan up so the shop had to figure out the wiring and the resistors. I believe they told PAC what they did so PAC may know at this point.

Everything works well with my Alpine head unit.

I checked multiple manufacturers for this part especially for my Murano they don't have a plug in version of the harness yet. I'd hate to do a custom modification to anything electrical that couldn't later be undone.

Here is an image with the IR remote (right under the head unit).

I will contact my shop and get the specifics of the wiring (they used the steering wheel control wiring diagram I printed from the shop manual to help but then had to do some resistor work to get it right).

I am out of the country for a few more days but will try to get some info by the end of the week.

Thanks. The PAC Sw1-x comes with a couple resistors for some applications. Glad to hear it worked for you. BTW, very clean install!!

I emailed a guy at PAC last night. Here is his response.

Yes, the SWI-X will work for the Nissan Titan. I have attached a link to
the installation instructions for the SWI-X.

Excellent Jeostang! Thanks for the instructions. This should be stickied for future use.

This was the only thing holding me back from going with a aftermarket radio.

Great info, thanks! I already knew I will probably replace my stereo, so I just recently bought the base dash kit for the Armada. It was cheaper ($10+ at Courtesy) than the Titan version plus it has two additional cutouts (where the dimpled area is for the dual climate I guess) so you could possibly use this as a mount for the eye. It is quite surprising because I always thought that you had to mount it in FRONT of the unit.
