Myron and Davis Monitor

Has anyone out there installed an aftermarket flip down monitor by Myron and Davis? Specifically, the "ANS178" that fits in the existing overhead center consule. I'm considering purchasing this product but unsure of the overall craftsmanship, design and performance. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Read this Aftermarket video screen warning-warranty issues and check the weight of the M&D. Personally I think the M&D are way overpriced. You can get a very high quality 7" for less than $400 and have the existing console trimmed to fit it. Heres what mine looks like. I heard from someone that a 10" will fit it but havent verified, the weight is probably too great for a 10" though.

I agree with you llajumpvid, the M & D monitor is pretty steep. I really like the way your install turned out. I originally wanted to do something like that but the installer I consulted with told me that the bin was too "shaky"...specifically when the bin was in the down position. Do you have any problems with the monitor shaking while your driving? Thanks.

If I were to do it again I would of kept my second monitor and put them in the headrest. It's the whole headliner that shakes. I don't see any, for lack of a better description "horizontal shake" with the monitor down. It stay pretty stable in that plane, but it bounces up and down a good 1/8" which when you are only sitting 2' away makes for a barf bag experience just waiting to happen. Luckily my daughter doesn't seem to notice.

I have my Armada in the shop trying to get the roof fixed but first they tried to say the monitor was the problem until I gave them proof the monitor was within the weight limit they quoted me (1.5lbs). They've had it for a couple of days now and haven't done anything but try to get the passenger seat sensor to work correctly....I'm not sure why they aren't fixing more than one thing at a time since they spent yesterday waiting for Nissan to call them back on the airbag sensor problem?

Thanks for the heads up. Yeah, I wouldn't want any of my kids throwing chunks in my new truck. Actually, I wanted to put monitors in the headrests as well...I got 3 kids. Well, I guess for now the child who sits in the middle just may as well be monitorless.

I hope the dealer resolves the airbag sensor problem for you. I actually have the same problem, but don't plan on having it fixed until I bring my truck in for the 1st oil change.
