new Speaker Box on Ebay for those who dont want to make a box

this is not my auction and I dont know them, just thought Id post it to help some other folks out

I emailed him with more details and this is what he sent me

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=5715476004

from email

You asked:
"1) does this fire down or up since I didnt see any feet for the enclosure

IT IS DOWNFIRE "BAFFLE IS 1.5" OFF FLOOR.

2) what size mdf is this made of

1/2" & 5/8" DOUBLE REFINED PLUMBCREEK MDF.

3) the magnet riser, is that are still sealed, and does it fit still under the seat when it is all the way down.

[b]IT IS A 100% SEALED BOX. THE SEAT SITS ALL THE WAY DOWN WITHY THE BOX UNDER IT. " THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT IS SOFT AND THE MAGNET RISER SINKS INTO IT.[/B

4) do you cut the specifc diamter or does the hole come in some standard size??

the hole cuttout is 9 1/8" also if you needed a custom cuttout "square or
different diameter" we will be running a new batch of
titan boxes on the 30th and 31st of this month. so
expect a week or two wait.

Yeah right. That "Mag riser" looks like a bad idea if you ask me. And what seat were they looking at that has a soft bottom, because mine sure doesn't.

It was probably the King cabs. I know my King Cab XE has soft bottom seats in the back. Wonder if the floor is different under the seats of the king cab and the crew cab. If so could cause these boxes to sit funny in one or the other.

ha ha I thought the same thing about that riser into the seat also---as the bottom of my seat (crew cab) is not soft. It was weird that they decided to use 1/2,and 5/8 mdf and not 3/4" . but hey I thought it may help some as the other box from soundoff audio or whatever they are called wanted like 150 plus shipping from FL

If you guys keep dissin' that box, nobody will buy one and post a detailed report. All you need is to get a sumo wrestler in the back seat to press the mag riser into the bottom of the back seat. Then it will be a strength test of the sub box v. the rigid panel in the seat bottom. BTW, I am wondering how the mag riser can be sealed as it looks like it is secured by screws through the flange that overlies the carpet. Maybe it has a seal bead or gasket that directly contacts the MDF? On a positive note, it looks like they did get the rear angle that slopes from the floor to the rear wall of the cab. I note that these guys continue the proud tradition of not posting the box dimensions in their advertisement.

Won't be me trying it. I am in the process of fabricating a custom center console to house a dvd player new HU a computer plus a 10 inch sub in the rear firing toward the back seats. I will have a 8inch lcd in the double din opening where the factory HU is now.
It will take me a while because its my first attempt at this but I have my design done and will be cutting wood and starting the fiberglassing this weekend I hope.

I will be using a Lilliput lcd touchscreen The computer will be from left over parts. I build computers on the side for fun and a little extra cash. I will be getting an ITPS Auto Power Sequencer (voltage regulator) and Low Dropout Regulator (shutdown controller) this will regulate the power and turn the computer on and off when the truck starts up and shuts off. I will be getting a new Pioneer HU with Auxillary input adapter to allow me to input the audio from the computer to the Pioneer HU. I will start a new thread and post pictures as I get things done. It will take me a while like I said I've never worked with fiberglass before.

First is for my extensive Mp3 collection as well as my hundreds of movies in divx. I will be able to watch DVD's or just pull up any of my movies from the hard drive. Oh yeh almost forgot music videos.
