DVD to Nav display

So I know someone has had to figured out how to pump the DVD signal to the Dash NAV unit useing all the stock equipment. Wife is in IT and thinks that a software hack would do it if the wireing is allready in place. Anyone know if anyone has done this??

how does the navi connect with the screen? VGA? Composite? If you could find that out, you could just use a video-switcher.

It connects using RGB. AVELECTRONIC.COM has a switcher. I put it in works great. I don't think you can just hack the factory drive, there are the ac controls etc that "play on top of the map" . When you put in the splitter it's at the monitor so the only video source making it to the monitor is your external source. Do a search its been posted on here numorus times.
