I asked Nissan Consumer Affairs about RF

After reading and agreeing with the posts regarding the Rockford Fosgate stereo being C.R.A.P, I decided to contact Nissan regarding the packaging and advertising as RF. I have copied and pasted the reply from my email. I asked the simple question "what name brand components make up the RF package?".

Dear Todd Friel,

Thank you for taking the time to personally contact us about your interest in Nissan products.

The entire package is made up of Rockford Fosgate components

We hope that this information answers your question, but if you need any additional information or have further questions, please let us know by reply e-mail or by calling 1-800-647-7263 and pressing "0" for a live operator.

Also, make sure to take a look at our website, www.NissanUSA.com, for the most up-to-date product information.

Recent college grads may qualify for a special finance rate through NMAC?s (SignatureGRADUATE) program! Those shopping for a Sentra, Altima, Xterra, Pathfinder, or Frontier may also be eligible for $500 grad cash. For details, go to NissanUSA.com/collegegrad.

At Nissan, we are committed to a high level of customer service.

Sincerely,

Nissan North America

Well we alrady know that that is total BS. I would call them and explain that Clarion is NOT Rockford and to say it is is deceiving the public.

That response is CRAP. Looks like the person that email went to pulled that out of their *** and straight up lied to you. Does every car company pull this type of stuff with their premium name brand radios?

Put Simply, yes. The only name you can trust on Car Stereos is Bose, but who knows if they outsource their products and just put their name on it like Rancho. I would figure they are because there are no other bose car audio products besides OEM.

I was told the Bose audio system in the Maximas was outsourced like the RF. Are you saying Bose is more careful with who they outsource to, or that this is untrue? Not that it really matters, just wondering.

The headunit is panasonic as the TSB applies to it as well. I think the speakers are the only thing Bose.

Yup, the speakers and the sub are both bose, head unit is the same. I am sure bose is outsourced like everything else, good car audio bose systems do sound good, but then go listen to a bose home theater system, no comparison.

But hey atleast with the bose system on the armadas you get bose speakers.

so am i to assume that RF outsourced to CRAP, but are putting their reputation behind the system? or is it true the all RF did was design the system specs? I sure hope nissan didn't give RF a lot of money for that.

i'd also like to hear the real story on this from the RF lady. thanks.

my co-worker that just started working for us just quit at RF in arizona. the amp is indeed built by rockford as he said he was there when it was being designed, dunno about the speakers, you would really think that rockford wouldn't want to put there name on this system since i have always known them to be a high quality manufacuter
