Adding Power Windows/Locks?

Hello,

First post, and I've been searching for this but have had no luck. I'm looking really seriously into buying a Titan, and I am leaning towards the king cab XE due to budget reasons, but I want power windows and locks. I know that it's not a big deal to add keyless entry to get the power locks, but what about power windows? Has anyone added p/w to their king cab? If so, how much of a headache was it? I hate to buy the CC, because I want the longer bed, and I really don't want to spend the $$$ to jump up to a SE when all I want is the p/w and p/l.

Thanks,

-Ben

Even if you take it in to get keyless entry w/ alarm you will have to do the power locks yourself. They will probably tell you it can't be done because there is no kit for it but it is possible.

Usually the wiring is there but if you want the genuine Nissan parts (motors, switches, etc), it is going to cost you $$$. Or you could go aftermarket, but it's not going to look as pretty. How fancy do you want to get w/ the windows? At it's simplest you remove the window roll down arm and place a box with a motor over the exposed nub. A switch on the box activates the motor which rolls the window up & down. Seeing how the base model XE 4x2 is $2000 less than the SE, it may not be worth it. Parts will be at least $500 (if you can find kits), plus labor, so figure a minimum total of $1000.

I guess it boils down to how much do you really want it and how much do you care what it looks like? More money will make it look closer to factory, but it will never be the same (unless you use factory parts that is).

I'd get the XE Crew Cab instead. It's much better looking IMHO, not a big fan of chrome wonderland.

I have had to replace three power window motors and two relay switches in previously owned vehicles. OE parts were expensive, up to $250. Maybe someone with a service manual can post an illustration of the power window assembly so you can see what parts would be needed and then price them somewhere.

Yes but he is asking about power locks as well, which are around $300 for currently available kits. $150+$300=$450, and I like to highball estimates so I said $500.

you can get a power lock kit specific to cable locks for about $70. less if you want to ghetto fab one designed for locks w/ rod linkage mechanisms.
