Xm Sugestions

i know this has been talked about several times, but im still a little confused.
i need someone to give me some specifics on what i need.

1. i have heard not to use the antenna that comes with the titan kit(t or f)

2. i have heard not to buy the whole kit just buy the headunit

3. if i dont want the antenna with the kit, them which one should i get. what is the difference between 1 lead and 2 lead.
4. also heard about 2 lead adapters and such whats the deal with that.

5. where is the headunit mounted for the titan kit.

please help me out. my b-day is pretty soon, need to start throwing hints out to the wife.

The XM receiver box attaches to the bracket which holds the amp in the RF system. This bracket is located near the firewall just above the brake pedal.
The Nissan XM receiver uses a two lead antenna. The Nissan antenna mounts on the rear window and connects "through-the-glass". Some report that this antenna is not very effective and is prone to signal drop-out. There are other antenna which can be purchased that mount magnetically to the outside of the vehicle, however most of the new ones are single-lead. To use one of these with the Nissan XM receiver a single-lead to two-lead adapter is required (a two-lead receiver will not work with only one lead connected). Most places which sell XM receivers also sell stand-alone antennas. Crutchfields is one such source, but there are others.
