LOC hook-up

Where is the best place to tap in with a LOC. Right now I have it tapped in to the amp in the panel by the accellerator. The signal is good... but after a while it starts cutting in and out. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, the signal is for a Kicker amp pushing a JL sub. (10 in) Anyone with the same problem...let me know how you corrected this.

P.S. Here is some more info..
RF system
changed the rca cords to make sure that was not the problem
8 guage wire to amp, with a good ground
amp is only turned up half way

Did you solder your tap connections or are you using some kind of crimp-through-the-insullation technique. If the latter then remove the crimp connections and solder the wires.

The best way to do this job is to purchase the wire/connector adapters. There is one that plugs into the HU and another that plugs into the connector on the truck wiring harness. Get these two, wire accross power and ground connections and wire your LOCs into the audio outs from the HU. You can solder all wiring outside the truck which makes the job very easy and all you have to do is install your new 'adapter' and connect the LOCs to the amp.

Do NOT tap your LOC into a post oem amp signal! I blew my last amp like this. Your best place is after the head unit but before the oem RF amp. Sorry I can't explain more but I'm running out the door for work.

I'm with eakes on this one, as that is what I did in my Acura RSX...

It makes for a very clean and professional install, then you dont have to splice any factory wiring and if you ever needed to take it out, you just unplug the by-pass harness and plug the factory back to the factory deck...

Good Luck,
