Headrest monitors.

Hello everyone, I just bought my Titan this week and I was looking to install some headrest monitors. Does anyone know if they sell replacement headrests with the monitors in them already? If not, has anyone ever installed the monitors into the existing headrests? If so, how hard was it? Nissan wanted over $2000 just to by the monitor and DVD player and I haven't been able to find any aftermarket parts compatible with the Titan.

Talking

I went to the local car stereo store and had 7" monitors installed in the headrests. They put the DVD player under the passenger seat along with a 110 converter with 2 outputs and a remote connector for the kids play station. They use wireless headphones or I can play the sound throught the car stereo. The whole thing cost around $ 1200. After driving this summer from FL to NY with 2 kids and returning with their cousins (2 more kids) It was the best $1200 I have ever spent. 1 DVD season set of the Simpsons will provide you about 800 miles of peace and quiet ( the kids laughing I can deal with).

check out this thread sample installs.(Go to the end for the more relavent photo's) Probably will answer most of your questions. If you go headrest I'd go with 5.6" monitors as the 7" IMO are to large for the headrest. They don't fit well. At least the sets I've seen. I think MyronandDavis makes a complete headrest but those are expensive.

I had aftermarket 7" TFT LCD Monitors installed in both headrests in addition to a 7" front seat passenger visor monitor (awesome clarity), a back-up camera and the DVD in my glove box. The set up works very good, the back-up camera is activated only when in reverse and on the visor's 2nd monitor setting (Display 1 & 2).
The installers simply cut the back of the headrest material and stapled it inside the edge, inserted the monitors for a clean seam, flush with the headrest plane. All wires are run covertly with minimal exposure. My daughter and occasional friends love this, especially with the infrared "ear-muffs" so Dad can listen to the crappy radio.
All this was bought and installed for $1050.00, with manufaturer and installer (workmanship) warranties on all componets. Everything is hooked up through my existing head unit and sounds great over the almost RF system.
I will borrow my jobsite digital camera and posts some pics this week on this thread.
