Pro-Fit VSM Legend

I've seen a couple of posts where guys have installed this. I just got one that I will be using w/ a holder for my iPod. Funny thing about that, this holder is one that I bought AGES ago for a cell phone. I discovered one day that it is the perfect size for an iPod w/ the Belkin car kit connector. I have since seen them sold AS iPod holders from various locations.

But I digress... the instructions that came w/ the Pro-Fit don't seem right. They describe removing the shift knob and gear shift bezel. Can't I just pop the bezel off of the radio area? I thought I had seen other posts describing this procedure as well.

Any advice?

Yes, put the gear selector in 1st to give you enough room to pull off the bezel. I would also recommend laying a towel (or equievelant) around that area as not to scratch anything while doing it.
