cell phone car kit / radio mute

I've seen one other thread on this subject, but no real answers. I've also perused the service manual w/ no success. I am admittedly not very comfortable w/ my ability to read the wiring diagrams, however.

Has anyone found a MUTE wire for the RF system? It just doesn't appear to exist even though there is a MUTE button on the face.

Lacking that, couldn't I hook up a relay controlled by the mute signal from teh cell phone kit that kills the ignition ON signal to the amp? I think I can find that lead OK.

Any advice is appreciated.

Dan

Bump.

I've ordered all my parts (Nokia CK-7W advanced car kit, Nokia MBC-15S holder w/ antenna coupler, and panavise pedestal mount.) Hopefully, I will be able to do my install this weekend (assuming that I have my Titan home from the service dept, LOL)

I'm thinking that the relay on the amp's ON wire is probably gonna be the way to go.

Unhappy nope

I never could find the mute wire if there is one. I read the scematics upside down and sideways, even had an electrical engineeer look at it. In my opinion the wiring scematics are not complete in the factory manual.

Oh yeah, the PanaVise mount sucks, you will be replacing it with the Pro-Fit within a week if you are like me.

Anyone want to buy a PanaVise mount??? For sale CHEAP.

kthrash,

thanks for the input. It looks like I'm gonna be doing something w/ a relay to kill the amp.

As far as the panavise mount goes, I already have a pro-fit VSM Legend holding my iPod. Is your panavise the dash mount type (like the pro-fit) or a pedestal?
