llajumpvid - just kidding. I would like to thank you for your posts. They have been quite helpful.
Now, On the mid level audio, per your directions, if I hold the AUX on the front controller it comes up with NO DVD. So that ,to me, means it accepts the input... it just depends on what is back behind the audio unit and whether there is a harness or not...
Jamie, I am pulling out the audio unit tomorrow. I might just have to get that console harness. Thanks again for your support.

RS250R I know you were and I'm glad to help. If I can save someone some of the frustration I had....anyway I would say it does have the dvd input based on the no dvd response. I think the harness that Jamie has is just the harness that goes from the junction I'm talking about to the factory dvd. You would still need to find the end to plug it into.
The harness that I tie into is M64 which in the armada service manual is shown on page 41 in section PG. (note they show M56 and M64 opposite of what is in my armada?) See if you can find this harness in your service manual it may give you an idea of where it is hidden.

I also have the factory manual and have been looking to find the same connectors. Well, today I verified what I feared. There is no wiring delivered to support a DVD in a SE CC popular with bench. Even the harness going directly into the audio unit is missing the wires that normally provide the dvd input. These are the wires depicted on a page in the service manual you posted in one of your previous posts.
Basically connector M46 feeding into the audio unit is missing the wires for terminals 34, 35, 36, 37, 39 & 40. Those are the wires/terminals for the left and right channel DVD Audio input (34, 35, 36, 37) to the head unit and the DVD Audio Enable terminals (39 & 40). I guess for now I am going to feed to the AUX Input. I have not given up yet. I am going to see if I can figure out what type of terminal heads are used inside the connector and wire the connector myself....
Jamie, you got any ideas???

yes, you absolutely can. i have one for the wife's trooper. it's screens velcro to the headrests. it does however skip pretty bad if you hit a bump, you have to use wired headphones since it feeds thru the aux input, has poor sound quality, low volume, AUX does not drive the IR for the rear seats, and the screen/image quality is pretty poor.
the sound really was the biggest problem though. The Titan tends to have a higher ambient noise level than the Trooper so the kids were always complaining they could not hear. I did not want them to have to blast their headphones... having the sound come thru the factory audio just seems a better option to me.
i just wanted better in the truck since we take the truck more often on camping trips when towing, etc. But, point taken. ;^)

If I understand correctly the harness that connects to the HU is missing the wires you need? I would guess that the HU has the respective post though? I've never done it but I think you can add the wires to the harness by soldering on some ends and then inserting them into the harness.....I think....I believe I've seen something at Fry's before. You might also check partsexpress.com they have a lot of wiring stuff. The easiest is if Jamie's wiring is the connector to the HU that is like what mine has. It's worth the aggravation once you get it to work. The AUX isn't a really good option as you can't get the audio to the rear controls...you might be better off getting an aftermarket transmitter and headphone. Go with RF then you can check from the front seat that it working.
Here's another long shot for you. I was going to look into it more before I got mine to work correctly, but you might be able to switch the DVD remote wire that goes to the rear controls with the AUX? There's got to be some electrical engineers on here that can tell you if its possible?
Good luck, I'd try adding the wires to the existing harness first....or if you can get the harness that has the correct wires cut your harness off and splice the needed one on.

Adding the wires is the easiest way to go. the audio unit has the post for the wires... the connector is just missing the terminals/wires. Like you say, it should be easy to add some terminal ends to some 20/22 gauge wires and fit them into the existing harness.
I thought about Jamie's subharness and just scavenging what I need from the subharness. really all I would need would be 5 wires and 6 terminal ends and i am in business.
I really want to get the DVD input thru the factory audio unit so I am willing to play around with it some. do not have much to lose. it is working now thru the AUX with low volume or the kids can use the wireless headphones. I turn off the rear controller and let the Myron & Davis IR provide the wireless signal. the kids do not seem to mind so it is OK for now. I will get it worked out one way or another though.
Thanks for all the input llajumpvid and Jamie.

No problem! You know i do have an assortment of connector terminals from nissan, but I would have to match up one from an existing connector because there is sooo many different ones!

yes getting the right size terminals is the issue. M46 is a 20 pin terminal end with what I estimate to be 20 gauge wire. might be smaller wires but who knows. I am going to try one more thing first and then I am just going to buy the subharness and scavenge.
thanks again jamie

Here are some pics of the almost finished install. Sorry about the resolution. I used a very old digital camera that I do not think even as 640x480 resolution... but you get the idea. The screen actually looks fantastic in person. The DVD I was viewing at the time is not the best as it was a promotional copy of the movie "Faster".
I still have some work to do.... some of the wire are not in split loom yet and are visible. The current pics show the DVD Player underseat rear facing so the kids can change their DVDs when they want. The tray (a $9 natural wood butcher block from WallyWorld) the player sits on is on a turntable (a $6 from Homer's Depot) so it is reversible to have the player forward facing. Spins with a minimum amount or wire management and is very stable. With the lighting I had it was difficult to get a pic of the tray.

OK, it is finally done! DVD Audio piped into the factory unit in a SE CC Popular with Bench!
With Jamie's help and suggestions I was able to get the terminal ends and add the missing conductors to connector M46. I had to add 6 terminals and 5 - 20 gauge wires. 4 terminals/wires for the L & R channel audio input (pins 34,35,36,37 of M46) and one wire with 2 terminal ends to basically short pins 39 & 40. It works like a champ!
The best thing is that the Myron and Davis DVD player (ANS 256T) providing input to these terminals does not require a line level amplifier to provide crisp, loud, CD level audio! Plus it drives the rear audio controller just like it would from the factory system!
Thanks again Jamie for the suggestion on the spare/repair terminal ends that most dealerships have in their Nissan '04 electrical repair kit. It did not take much to find them but I was amazed at how small the terminal ends were in M46 and just how many different terminal ends come in a repair kit. Kudos once again Jamie and llajumpvid.
