JL Audio System

I got back today from HIFI Buys and I basically shelled out 2grand for my first mod on my truck (not really a mod). I made an appointment for them to install everything. I cant wait. It'll be my second system ever, and my first one was a pair of MTX 10's that were about 400watts under powered.
Basically this is what im having installed.

(2) JL Audio 10w3v2 subwoofers
(1) JL Audio 500/1 Amplifier
Custom Fabricated Subwoofer Box
All the wiring
Bannana plugs
Bass Link

:-D boy i cant wait.

Can you post some pictures after the install? I'm interested to see how they do on the subwoofer install.

2grand for that?......Does your arse hurt? Have you noticed you have been walking funny?.......Man you better go look around for a better deal than that. My system is on the high end of the JL audio ladder (2 8" w7's on a JL 500/1 and a JL 450/4) and that cost's less than your system and thats with the 4 channel amp also.

I was wondering about that also. I got 2 TRU amps, 1 sub, and 2 6.5" component sets (made by CDT) from edesignaudio.com for less than $2K. Of course I am spending about a zillion hours of my own time doing the install.

Yeah, that's a lot for an amp and two subs. Should be able to find a better deal than that.

Sorry, i dont have any pics yet but i'll try to get some in this weekend when i dig up my digital camera. each 10 was 200 bucks and then the amp was 599.99, custom box was 200, wiring 150, install was 55, high to low converter was like 50 i think, then bass link was 30 + 30 install. er thats enough of that :-\. anyway it came out to around 1650 or something. i dont have a head unit or component speakers yet. i gotta save up for a nice touchscreen double din head unit like the kenwood ddx7015 that i could make look like was actually suppose to be in the truck. BTW i bought everything from hifi buys, not from online.

man, you guys are HARSH! This poor fellow is obviously proud of the system he's installing, and all you folks can do is to tell him he got ripped off.

Frankly, I'm not sure how comfortable I would be buying a bunch of that stuff off of ebay or other online places. HiFi Buys is a reputable, high-end dealer. If he has a problem down the road, I'm sure he's better off w/ them than w/ Joe e-bay.

Nice system, damngood. I hope you enjoy it.

Dan

Thanx dan. Yeah i know the price of the subs on ebay as well as many other online websites. I dont want to buy JL audio subs online mainly because JL Audio doesn't authorize online selling plus, i dont want to have to go through the pain of having to ship the subs somewhere if they blow. Id rather have the convenience of being able to just drive to hifi buys, hand them my sub, and them go get me a brand new one out of the back and install it for me free.

Don't pay from other then a authorized dealer....JLAUDIO will deny any claim unless you can prove you bought from a authorized dealer.. You pay more but it's worth it in the long run.........
