Source for Peel N Stick Foam Sound Insulation?

If you have had your door panels off, you will have noticed some grey foam sound insulation with an adhesive backing covering holes in the door sheet metal.

Does anyone know where I can buy that stuff?

www.partsexpress.com may have it. I'd get some of the dynamat knockoff stuff. I've heard about stuff called ice gaurd or water and ice at home depot that is a cheap alternative. It's a roofing material that from what I've heard works. (if you're not in a frigid area they probably won't stock it).

Stick on foam insullation can be found in various widths and thicknesses at Lowes or Home Depot. You can also try craft stores. I have purchased stick-on felt at Hobby Lobby and Michaels (craft stores in Texas) they may also have stick-on foam, although felt will serve the same purpose.

there is someting called ensulite that does the same thing, it is a thin foam type material (looks just like the stock except its black and a little thicker)--its almost inpossible to find online.

and you use 3m spray to stick it on the metal, mat or plastic. you dont really need though on the doors. the mat should cover up all the holes if you cut large peices. I have some and it does a good job if you install it right

one note-attach it to the mat not the plastic barrier--lol--that way is sticks ten times better--and do not install inside the door panel as it will hold water and cause mold if it gets wet

if you want it let me here is the guys email

raam@raamaudio.com

his name is rick

heres the website

http://raamaudio.com/products.htm (ensolite)

he is in claifornia so the shipping may be a littel high--but he is a great guy to deal with very trustworthy and he takes paypal for customer protection

late

oh yeah cascade audio also makes a foam type material called gator or somthing like that

The stuff Nissan uses sux. Mine has been coming loose
and getting into the power window mechanisms, preventing
them from going down all the way. Been cleaned out twice.

Funny,I found a mat of felt like material in the door.

Hmmmm,I took that top plate(where controls would be on higher trim levels-I have a XE KC) off and found typical old fashion grayish felt like insulation in mat form.I was pleasantly surprised; it probably explains why the Titan(a much cheaper truck) is quieter than the Pilot SUV(I didn't expect to find any insulation).I wonder if they just use the felt on the cheap XE KC with very few controls and wires to get in the way??Anyone else notice felt insulation?.Thanks,Charlie Built 4-04.

Casacade audio makes the stuff that works. I bought it by mistake and have loved that mistake for 2 years in my suburban. They also make a paintable sound deadner that works wonders on the outside or inside of the vehicle.
