plugging VCR into DVD player

I'm very new at this and I'm wondering if you are able to take a VCR and plug it into the stock DVD player inputs and view it? Also, how many watt invertor will I need to run a VCR player. I would only be viewing when the truck is running and I'm trying to get by with a cigarette plug invertor....is that possible? Thank you in advance for your response.

If the DVD player has video inputs on it, then it should. You can use a cigarette plug invertor but you have to make isure it will support the VCR. Look on the back of the VCR and see how many watts it takes, then go to a computer store and buy the right converter.

My guestion is why would you what to use a VCR instead of the DVD player. I understand that maybe all of your videos are on tape and you might not want to spend the money for DVD's. Besides when you figure in the extra space that the VCR will take up inside you truck and the space for the tapes, you will be much happier with the DVD's. From now on just buy DVD's instead of tapes. I believe that you will be happier with the ease of the the DVD's. Just my 2 cents.

If he is like my wife and I, he probably has 100's of videos and almost no DVDs. I just started getting into DVDs and have maybe a grand total of 6. I haven't even bought a DVD player/burner for my computer yet.
