Radio replaced by Nissan, but have doubts that it was

Can anyone tell me if the stock 6 disk changer is a muli-part unit. I took my truck in to have the radio replaced, but when I got it back, it appears that the LCD display was not changed. I have a feeling that the LCD is seperated from the RF unit, but not sure. Does anyone have the factory installation/removal instructions for this unit. Please let me know.

LCD and control panel (buttons) are separate from the unit.

If they follow "official" service procedures, they are supposed to record your presets and settings before they begin work so your new radio will already be set up when you get it back.

I was supprised to find that they are seperate, I found this while looking to install the VDC memory box...

I too questioned the replacement because I never pealed off the protective film from the LCD and when I got the truck back it looked the same. But it sounded much better...

That's pretty funny, I too have never peeled off the protective film, I have some clear 3-M plastic that I am going to stick on there when I get off my butt and do it, I know it will only take a few seconds, but too busy doing other things.
