Hi all,
I need to purchase a tonneau cover for my CC Titan LE. What have you guys purchased, and do you like it? Here's what I'm looking for:
1. Easy to install AND remove (I use ladder racks a lot, so I need to be able to switch back and forth between tonneau cover and racks on the Utilitrack
2. Watertight (or as much as possible)
3. Relatively inexpensive (I don't want to drop 800 clams on a tonneau if I don't have to, but I will if that's the only way to get a good product. Wife and I just had a little Quarter Shovel, so we're kinda watching our pennies.
I have the A.R.E. LSII Tonneau cover and I love it... it looks great, very easy to get on and off and it is extremely water tight (relatively). The down side is, yes, it is quite pricey... I dropped close to a grand on mine... but, compared to what else is out there, I wouldn't have gotten anything else.

Hello,
After searching through this site, I settled on a Truxedo low profile.
This is my third pickup, but the first with a Tonneau cover. My experiences so far:
1) I have the utilitrack system and found that the Truxedo was very easy to install.
2) It does complicate the use of the bed extender.
3) It is not completely water tight. Rain water can still seep in through the grooves at the cab end of the truck bed (this is part of the Titan design, but the Truxedo doesn't completly cover these seams.).
4) I am pleased with the ease of opening up the cover.
5) It is easy to adjust. I have minimal "flutter" on the highway.
6) We have had a lot of rain lately. There is no pooling of rainwater on the cover (really nice).
7) It is keeping the bed nice and clean.
8) I am approaching 1K miles. At this time, I have not seen any increase in gas milage.
Love the Titan...........hate the mileage!

I have truxedo "original" cover. I like the "straight up" sides to it which gives that extra inch clearance you always need under it. Ease of removal? My daughter wants to use it for homecoming parade tonight. It came off, rails and all in 3 min. Took 20 min to install the first time and 15 of that was reading and figuring the intructions. I wouldn't even open the snap on cover on my F150 due to time trying to stretch it back on. Truxedo rolls open and closed in , 1 min. my .02.

Clearly I am biased, since I bought it, but to me there are only 2 completely functional tonneau covers. The Advance K-cover (which I have) and the Retrax rollbak.
I went with the K-cover since I still wanted to use the utili-trak without drilling into the bed.
The K-cover is slick looking, light enough for one person to remove with complete ease (~40lbs or so), locks so it is completely secure (needed for me). My current plans are to put one bed divider in the back so that the back panel becomes a trunk of sorts (for groceries etc) and maybe one divider up front behind the first panel for a "toolbox" or sorts (something the retrax can't do). For me, for the money ($609 shipped) it is by far the most useful option. I'm the type of guy who like to go out and just buy something if I want it and a hard tonneau like the ARE would just limit that too much...I don't want to have to plan.
I've never tried, but I imagine it would be really easy to do it...it should fit no problem. I initially considered that but then thought that if I ever needed space I could just fold it up and take it off the rails and put it vertically in the bed and it wouldnt take up much space at all...but if you need the whole bed I dont see why it would be a problem sticking it in the cab at all...Ill take measurements to make sure.
It is 99% water tight, like pretty much any tonneau. Water gets in at the separation of panels. Im talking MINIMAL amounts of water though. So little actually that you can see the actual circles of the drops from where the water came in.
Info on them is at http://www.kcovers.com/ and there is an order now button which takes you to:
As long as you don't live in Texas, there is no tax, and shipping brings the total price to $608.99 as long as you ship to a commercial place (like Yellow) and then go pick it up. To deliver it to your house directly it is an extra $40.

Yeah, I finally gave up with finger tightening and used the proper tools to tighten it up. No more sliding.... you would figure I would have just done this when I installed it but nooooooooooooo I had to do it the hard way! LOL.

Can you take it off and put on the back seat of the KC? Like it you are out and need the space?
Well, I went out and measured...no way. I wasn't even being that exact but the cover is ~68" accross and the interior is about 58" (door thickness plus panels bulging out).
Like I said though, I wouldn't worry too much about it since you can always just lay it down in the bed.

I have the snugg top SL model and love it great fit no drilling required easy to take off if u have to haul some furniture etc only one lock to open it. One of my best mods

I have a retrax and am trying to figure out why you say I can't use two dividers?? Works great with my one divider, why not two????
I didn't mean that you couldn't use two per se, just that you couldnt use them as I would. Since the k-cover opens in the front and back I meant that I could put a divider towards the front of the cab and use that as a "toolbox" The retrax has the canister there, that's all I meant.
