Rear door speaker wire

i Want to run new speaker wire in my king cab. Did anybody put new wire in the truck? The harness in between the door and the chasis is pretty chinzy. looking for ideas. i dont know if i should just run new wire along the stock harness.

I ran new wires along side the existing harness and then heat shrinked just like the factory setup. New wires would be the right choice preferbly twisted 16gauge or 18gauge speaker wires.

Yours had a rubber grommet on king cab doors? My front doors did but not the king cab doors. I had to run outside the factory heatshrink tubing then heatshrink my harness...

A long plastic tie strap works pretty well for getting through the rubber grommet. I ran 16 ga with no problems, just a little time...

Mine didn't. It's like a heatshrink wrap that fits on the wires extremely tight or I would have ran them inside like you did.. I should take pictures when I do the seat pictures for the other guy..

That would be sweet, I am interested in these pics too.. I am so glad everyone is taking all the guess work out of my audio install! I also remember a post with some pics a while back about using a large industrial zip tie to fish speaker wire into the rear doors.

I posted a pic of fishing 12 gage speaker wire through the rear door grommet with a big zip tie, but that was on a crew cab, which does have grommets for both front and rear doors.
