Ragedogg69 has me thinking and I believe I am sold on the Kenwood DDX7015 or atleast something that looks like it. I am not an Audio guy by any means, but I think the dash of the Titan needs to be a little spruced up. With that, you guys seem to know what you are doing. I have the Rockford Fosgate (designed, built, whatever POS) system...and the optional DVD player and overhead screen. Please help me with what it is I am thinking I want to do. For some reason I was thinking of having the Stock DVD player I bought drive the screens but I assume this Kenwood unit would do it, right. Meaning, removal of at least the Optional DVD player I bought but using the overhead screen (I do not really want screens in the headrests). Can I use that thing at all? Sounds like for a "good" system, I need Speakers all around and amp and a bass box. I suppose these things can be as elaborate as all get out. What I really want to have is a head unit with a DVD screen as the face, not one of those that retracts and sticks way out. Then from there I really don't give a ****. Money is always an issue, but not a real big one. With that, any help you guys can lend me would be great. I live in Minneapolis and I have no idea who can install this stuff right. Is best buy fine? Anyway, thanks in advance for any help you can lend. BTW, is Kenwood the only one with a head like that (meaning, screen as the face)?

I listen to just about everything, but mainly Rock (Rob Zombie, Velvet Revolver, Metallica...) and Country. I don't really listen to much stuff that bangs real hard, but I do like some bass. My budget is very flexibile, but with that said, I doubt I need "top of the line" stuff (gold plated...). I like the "look" of the Kenwood DDX7015 but I doubt I will use all the bells and whistles. I have a ton of CD's and have not stepped into MP3 world yet, but easily could. To give you an idea, I would think spending $10K on this would be rediculous (for me), at the same time, I have spent more on less. Long story short, I don't want the $90 AM/FM receiver and 2 speakers sitting on the floor of the truck but I also don't think I need more then an amp, some sort of bass box, perhaps an upgrade to what you guys think are the crappy speakers in the truck and the Kenwood DDX7015 or some other head that fits like that. If this is unrealistic, let me know that too. I would just rather leave it up to you guys to help me "build" something then Best Buy or some other group. I probably want them to install it, but I don't want there influence. Does that help? In addition, I would like to use what I have if I can, but it is not necessary. THanks,
maXX
BTW, If I had a DVD screen up front and the system was as good as I thought it was suppose to be when I bought it (the stock Rockford Fosgate...), that would have probably been just fine.

What I recommend is going to a professional stereo install facility and explain what your looking for. Go to someone that does custom installs not Best Buy or Circuit City a local install facility. Where you at of?

For doing an elaborate car audio install? I wouldn't think so. I would suggest that before you sign any deal and fork over any cash, that you get a complete and detailed list of everything that a potential installer would install and where & how it would be installed. Then you can post that list here & get some suggestions. Also, unless an installer had done an install in a Titan, I'm not sure they would know how to get the dash apart without scratching anything, or how to get the door panels off, will they be installing any sound deadening/insulation, will the Rear A/V controls work, will the steering wheel controls work, what speakers & how will they be installed, etc. Also, if they are competent, they should have photos of prior installs and be able to provide some references.
Very cool, thanks fella's. I am going to start seeing what folks have done. Lizard, thanks for the list of "possible" suppliers. I saw the Kenwood deck on Ebay for $900 and one of the Eclipse decks for $1050. Not to bad if you know how to do it yourself. I would guess that is what is going to cost me.

Becareful buying on EBAY once you do you void the factory warranty... Eclipse won't warranty nothing without being bought from a authorized dealer and either will Kenwood.
Eclipse makes a Double Din player just like the Kenwood called AVN-2454. It's a really nice unit with a hefty price tag.
Yep. Very nice unit. My father has it in his GMC. Has navigation built in, while the Kenwood has a separate hide away box to buy for that. But the deal breaker for me was Eclipse has no Sirius Tuner yet. Not a big deal for most but i refuse to listen to normal radio. Another big nod against the Eclipse was it does not support CD-RW playback. So making all these MP3 CD RWs i do that changes the CD into basically a 10 disc CD changer, would be lost. But it all depends on your opinions and what you would use it for.
Also like LizardKing said, DO NOT BUY FROM EBAY. No warranty and sometimes, yes sometimes you are buy stolen murchandise.
The Kenwood is a solid unit, i just wish it had some sort of security feature, like a detachable control panel or a flip over face. It does have a security code, but I would like that little added insurance.
