Question Questions about putting in new speakers

I have a set of speakers ive installed, but now im starting to question if I did it properly.

I have a KC, without RF.....had a indash 6 disk, replaced it with an aftermarket radio. I am using the pre-amp in the radio (not an external amp)

I used the factory wiring. Should I run all new wires? I assume there is a cross over (probably a real crappy one) thats a split between the front dash and the front door speakers. How should I wire the front door speakers? If I should use the factory wiring, what is the colors for +/- ? It's not marked anywhere for the front speakers.

Any prompt responce would be greatly appreciated since I have the front door panels off right now.

Thanks,

Beaker

Do you still have the door panels off? If so, the switches need to be plugged in to complete the circuit!!

yes, both switches are on...

the window on the drives side works....both door locks work on both sides from both switches......just the passanger side window is dead

i took it apart and took out the motor and pushed up the window for now...

i want to take it into the dealer and have it fixed under warrenty. but ive already messed with it (took out the motor to manually push it up) ....i know the dealer will try to use that against me.

this is really bummin me out....this truck has 7k miles on it.....the windows dont roll up on the first try 75% of the time....now the passanger side window is dead.....my rotors are warped BAD.....i love this truck, but its starting to make me hate it......too many problems way too soon.

I would pull new wires for the speakers. I think the stock wires are about the same diameter as a blond angel's hair.

I personnally wouldn't waste my time with the speaker wires. Your still using your factory headunit. To me thats like using a higher octane gas because you put tires on with a higher speed rating. Now, if yoiu decide to build a system, you will benefit running a better wire.

Just use a 9volt battery to test the woofer that will tell you what's positive and what's negative. If you hook the battery to the terminals if the woofer pushes out that's postive if the woofer sucks inward that's negative...
