Just as my posts say, it was a picture phone. it looks like crap, but it atleast gives you an idea of what the deck install looks like. (I too have no gap.)

haffne,

i noticed that you also got the nav kit for your kenwood? How is that working for you. I am interested in getting the nav-4100, but would like to hear how people like its previous model.

Hmmm.... I found this like last night, I think he has the trim ring installed, am I not right? Just wondering because I don't want a gap on my headunit.

I knew you were using a camera phone thats why I was looking for better pictures and I think I found them.

About the Navi I was also thinking about coming outta the third brake light area with the antenna. Do you guys think that will work?

I really like the deck! I do wish it had some better specs, something closer to Eclipse brand.

Yea that is exactly what it would look like with the trim ring that comes with the unit and without any spacers. The problem is that i moved mine out an 1/4 (with the spacers) so when i applied the trim ring the sides of the trim ring hit the face plate. You can trim the sides down so the face plate will fit around the trim ring. Either way you go it still looks great. I looking for something besides the trim ring that came with it. When i find something i will post the new pictures.

It is awesome!! The 3100 is very easy to operate. (i used this in my Toyota Tundra with my KVT-911DVD) You put in an address and it is voice activated to telling you to turn left, right, etc..... If you install this yourself you will need to know where Speed Senor wire is at and the reverse light. I know where they are so if you need this information i can provide it to you.

That's my website and my 7015 install. I used the 4100 just because I wanted the latest unit. I like the look better with the trim piece that came with the 7015 better than without it. As you can see at the bottom there is a slight gap between the trim piece and the bezel. Not so at the top, the bezel presses on the top of the trim. Some day I'll put a spacer in to get the bottom out a bit.

With help here on TT I connected the speed sensitive wire. I put both the Navi and Sirius antennas out the third brake light. I originally wanted to put the navi antenna in the dash above the head unit back towards the engine. There is a nice flat table in there. But the unit would only lock on to 3-5 satellites. With it on the top of the truck it is always locked on 8 satellites. I just got done with the SWI-X for the steering wheel controls. That works great too. Next I am going to add the microphone for voice recognition to the navi unit. I am also looking for a back up camera. There is another wire that you connect to the shifter so when in reverse the 7015 unit switches to video input. Then I think I will be done.

I'm really interested in DDX-7015. I'm planning on installing one but needed to know some things...

Did you need to replace the stock amp also? If I get the HU with Nav, I probably won't be able to replace the amp and speakers at the same time so I'm wondering if this can be run with the stock speakers.

Can you have Nav up front and DVD playing for the rear passengers?

Any info is greatly appreciated. BTW, very install/system.

You may already know where the reverse wire is at but there is one in the passenger side kick panel. It is a GW (green white) wire and easy to get to.

I am just running the stock amp and speakers. I can not tell any difference from when it was just stock but maybe someday i will get around to changing the speakers and the amp.

You can have the Nav playing up front and the movies playing in the back or you PS2 playing just back two or all three. Also you can buy wireless headphones and have back people listing to what is playing on the back screens and the driver can listen to Sirius through the car speakers.

The RF stock amp and speakers are 2 ohm (and IMHO low quality), so substantial performance advantages are awaiting you with aftermarket amp(s), sub(s) & speakers.

Do you have an opinion on swapping that HU for the stock RF HU and interfacing with stock DVD & NAV?? Any opinion/advice on whether that can be done? (yeah, I should have bought an SE w/o all that junk)

I agree, I don't like where Nissan put the OEM navi unit. That's one reason I installed my own.

I had the mid-line stereo on my SE. There is no amp. I am just using the stock speakers. It sounds ok, not great. Some day I'll get an amp and replace the speakers.
