Yea there is a small gap but you can custom make a trim ring. The trim ring that came with the DDX just does not look right... I tried it and it just looked better without out it. Hope that helps

Mine has no gap! It fit's perfectly flush, you sure you don't have your tilt adjusted wrong?

On that comment......BITE ME.. I did search and I saw all the blurry pictures I was hoping you would have a close up, no need to get all hostile.

When i installed the unit the first time i did not use any spacers causing the unit to set back inside of the face plate. I then used a 1/4 inch spacer (a nut) on the back side of the mounting bracket to make it flush with the face plate. I tilted the setting to number two because I am 6'8 and this is the best setting for me. The pictures are close up so you can see how if fits. The fit is great and i encourage people who want this unit to get it because you will not be disappointed.

My bad, some people on here tend to have the "maybe if you search...." thing down. If you put multiple periods behind something this usually means there is something you wanted to say but didn't. There was always so much stuff on here about using the search button it was taken the wrong way. No hard feelings. I mean at least I put the little smiley, hoping you would see I WASN'T SERIOUS
