radio volume goes up and down itself!

Guys, those with the 6-dsic changer radio. Does anybody ahve this happening to them. the volume goes up and down all the time, no warning, it almost is like you turn it down and it just keeps going and then up by itself and down again.

I am calling the dealer on this, but anybody have this issue with the radio and who makes the darn thing?? Clarion used to be the nissan radio people.

Dude, there is a feature I believe labeled SSV when you program your audio settings......it can be turned off, set at low, medium or high. It raises the volume as you accelerate, and lowers the volume as you slow down. It's supposed to offset road noise.

press the round button opposite of the volume knob, sorry forget what its called, then move it left or right and scroll through, you should go through bass, trebel, fade etc... settings, one should be called SSV, turn it off

If the afformentioned responses do not curb your issue, then you have "THE PROBLEM". Do a search on "radio fade" and you will find mountains of information including a TSB issued by Nissan. Your radio may be faulty.

guys, the SSV I think was the issue. Thank you alot. I had it set on High, so I turned it off. I also found a little thing you can select the mode disc title and track title to display. Pretty neat feature.

Anybody know who makes the Nissan radio in here? Clarion used to make the head units for the sentras and frontiers. my wifes new SE-R has a panasonic in it.

Any guesses on the manufacturer?
