Changing navigation screen to a dvd player.

I have a stock titan se. i am wanting to put a dvd player in where the nav system screen goes. i have found the part number for the mount on the dah and was just wonderin if neone else has done this yet, and if so how it worked and looked. one other thing i was wonderin if neone knew how to get factory parts any cheaper.

You are saying that you do not have the NAV and you want to use the NAV cluster lids to add a screen/DVD system... right?

most folks do not go to the trouble as it requires different cluster lids for the NAV system. The cluster lid (cluster lid D) that holds the NAV monitor also requires a different radio bezel (cluster lid C) which has all of the NAV switches in it. You cannot use your current radio equipment... it is all about the way they work their packages...

if you do a search you will find lots on this. you will see that most folks just add a screen in the recess that come with the non-NAV cluster lid. there are may ways to attach a screen there and if you do it correctly it can look nice. the other way is to go with something like the AVIC-N1 and get the XE radio bezel. that is kind of an all in one solution... screen, dvd, NAV, radio, etc.... expensive but another way to do. I think there is also a DD-7xxx system that is mentioned on this board... there are even pictures.

I thought that was what you wanted. Honestly, the NAV lid will not work. It requires a different radio bezel and therefore a different radio/switch/faceplate.

I know that is not what you wanted to hear. Look thru the "Nissan Titan Visual, Audio & Interior Modifications" forum and you should be able to see where this was already discussed and some options for adding a screen on/in your current cluster lids.

Hope that helps

I had been considering this as well. Here is a link to someone who did something similar:

http://www.nissantitan.info/forum_po...p?TID=774&PN=1

He added the nav shroud and his own screen. Notice in his second post he says "custom figerglassed center piece". He mentions filling in the factory holes and I assume he re-cut to fit his needs.

I searched in the past and found posts to other discussions like this before, but for the life of me I can't find them right now, if I find them, I'll post.

For anyone interested, here is a link for a center console piece (non-nav).

anyone know of any body that would make a custom dask kit for a se w/o nav system to add a 7 inch screen in the center and keep the factory radio?
