New Sound System Pics

Here are a couple pics of my new stereo. Replaced stock speakers w/Infinity Reference, added Alpine amp for them. Kept the stock 6-disc HU. Installed Audiobahn amp for Kicker 10" Subwoofer in custom box. Notice the storage on the passenger side. Also there is a pic of the new billet grille inserts. They look pretty good, even though they are zip-tied on.

Looks good! I like how you set up your amps behind the seat. I am gonna have to do something similar with mine. How did you attach your amp rack to the back wall?

If you check behind the seat there is a section of the back wall (protrusion) that comes out (where the top of the amp rack is). We drilled three holes through the amp rack and through the protrusion. It mounted really firm and there is room behind the rest of the amp board for the wiring. Also by screwing into that protrusion, we avoided drilling through to the other side of the wall.

It looks like he is talking about just below the upper center seatbelt mount where those 4 holes are. Must have used sheet metal screws as it doesn't appear there is access to the back of that wall to install a nut. Also, from looking at my truck it seems like there wouldn't be enough depth in that location, especially to be able to fold the seats up, but the picture of his box shows the seats up so I guess there is room. I'll have to start playing around with mine as soon as I finish my sub enclosure.

Yes, we mounted the board where those 4 holes are. There is about 3 inches of space between the amp and seat at the top end of the amp, and about 5 inches at the bottom. The only time this is no space is when you have the seats up (see box pic). The seat backs are rubbing directly against the amps, so I can't really have the seats bottoms up while the car is on because the amps will overheat. I have a speaker box anyway, so there is no reason for the seats to be up.

Did you just compress the humps in the factory carpet that stick out underneath the amp rack? I think I might mount my amps to a board this weekend and do a fit check.

Didn't need to do anything to the carpet. There is plenty of room behind the board for all of the wires etc.

did you have to put these speakers on the amp, or the subs are the only ones on the amp?
