Just got the Truck, have a couple Questions

It says its XM, or Sirius ready, has the SAT button, what do i need to use it and how much are the parts?

What Size Speakers are in the front and rear so i can upgrade them... are the fronts components or are the small ones on the dash wired seperately. thanks a lot... i can't believe i came across this site... i've been searching the internet for hours and hours for answers....

Here's my understanding, and you can confirm by searching this forum:

1. You need a satalite tuner, don't know what price.
2. Front is 6x9; rear is 6.5"
3. They are not components, but everyone is replacing with components.

Yes, search this forum using my screen name (eakes) and you will find a wealth of info on the Titan's audio system (or lack thereof).
To use the SAT button on the radio you will need the XM or Sirius kits from Nissan. The XM is listed for the Titan, but the Sirius tuner is listed only for the Armada (it will work on the Titan however). The typical price I have seen is $400 for the kit plus additional for the install.

you can also tell your dealer that you feel a little slighted in that all sales brochures indicated that if you have the SAT button, you have satellite radio. What they don't don't tell you is that you have buy additional parts. I brought this story to my dealer and he sold me all components for cost - $225.00.

whats wrong with just using a sirius or xm tuner and antenna, why would you need to get the parts from nissan when you can get a general turner and antenna for like $50

6x9's seem like they'd be awefully big in the front... aren't the stock ones 6.5's?

many threads on this, but the nissan one uses the oem radio and manitans complete control via the oem head unit. it mounts the tuner under the dash and no indidcation to untrained observers that you have xm or sirius. cost? expensive roughly $350 for the entire set up, tuner, splittler and antenna and (if you choose the oem mounting way bracket).

on the other hand, a plug and play unit for $99 will work no problem, but you loos the radio functionality and you have to figure out where to mount the thing. Oh also many people have posted tha when connected to the "aux" imput, the volume is low and a fix is to insatll a PIE adapter in line to boost the power og the jack (something like the aux imput only is 2 watts while it needs 3 to function normally, or something like that)

Both solutions will work in the Titan, just depends what you are looking for

i'm sorry, i still don't see the difference... whats wrong with a kenwood sirius tuner and an antenna... i don't see why it would have any problem hooking up to the original head unit... what could be so different about the nissan tuner. since the head unit is xm ready, or sirius ready... all it needs is the signal... am i wrong?

The only problem is the interface - how does the XM/sirius tuner connect to the HU? For the Nissan mid-level or Fosgate radios that interface in NBUS. If the tuner has an NBUS interface then it would connect directly to the Nissan radio. A Kenwood Sirius tuner does not have an NBUS interface, its interface is propritary to Kenwood and is designed to connect to a Kenwood HU. The same could be said for any other satellite tuner that connects digitally to a HU, ie, a satellite ready HU, the tuner and the HU must have "matching" interfaces.
The universal tuners connect either via FM modulation thru the radio or via an AUX input. In the XM market there is a basic tuner that will work with three different manufaturers HU, but one must purchase an adapter box that is specific to the HU being used.

yep what he said......

basiclly Nissan decided to invent it's own special connection, hence only I tuner will work, the one that cost $275 for just the tuner.
