Boosting the Audio Input Level....

Has anyone had experience with a "Boostaroo"

http://www.boostaroo.com/

They are big in the motorcycle world for helping increase output to helmet speakers. I emailed the company about using it inline to boost the signal to the HU and their response was ttah it would work.

I'm thinking of trying one. If it works I'm going to create a 3V power source off the radio circuit so I don't need to worry about batteries. Got some ideas to package it all together into a simple/slick install.

Anybody ever use one of these ????

Why dont you just get a pie amp? It wires inline with the aux input on the front of your console (just gotta splice a couple of wires).

Well that would be a bunch easier huh !! I apologize, the only other mod that I saw with this device bypassed the factory AUX input in favor of a relocated plug.

Bummer, I was all dialup up to make a lovely little 3V circuit

I'm assuming that the factory connector for the AUX input at the back of the HU is RCA ?

You just cut the end off of the RCA and splice into the wires behind the dash panel.

Yes, you'd have to splice the RCA into the 3 wires coming from the mini-plug. Check my install for a little more info: Hardwired MP3 Player
