xm sirius questions not previously asked

i was reading on another forum ( http://www.6mt.net/satcompare.asp)that compared the xm and sirius when installed in a infinity.

my question is this: In the article he states that xm display compresses the song name and does not give the full song name if it is longer than 10 letters (ie it'll say B. spears instead of Britany Spears etc) while the sirius will disply the entire title no matter how long it its that part actually scrolls it seems.

in the Titan does xm and sirius work the same way?

also seems sirius tuners always work flawlessly, while th xm has some (locking up) tendicies. is this true also in the titan? or is that problem mostly and infinity g35 thing? I read peopel have to turn off the ignition and restart the ignition to get xm to work again.

There was also something about a "green dot" refurbished unit from Grubbs that was supposed to help fix that?

after reading any post on any message board i can find i think i determined I'm going with xm (but only if i know that i can get all the information on the screen for the song title and that i won't get drop out from a ****ty xm tuner)

Nissan XM does truncate artist & song title.

I get very infrequent lockups, maybe once a month or so, usually when it is very cloudy. This requires restarting truck to make the XM come in again.

I've had the factory Sirius tuner for about a month now. I have the Terk SIR-mini antenna mounted on the roof though the 3rd brake light. Reception is great, the only time it drops out is in my garage or if I stop at a light under a bridge. I've never had to restart the truck or anything for the tuner to get the signal again.

The factory RF radio does not scroll automaticaly, but that is a trade-off I am willing to deal with so I don't have to have an extra device. I love it so far.

My factory XM is truncated, but not being into useless trivia its not missed ..in four months use, no lockups, just occasional drops whenever satellite blocked by a hill or building. Have Sirius on Direct TV, XM in truck - we much prefer XM programming content as well as their channel layout.

I've had Sirius for about a 1.5 years. The original Clarion OEM tuner in my G35 coupe had an issue that displayed "NO SAT". The only way to reset it was to either disconnect a battery cable or pull the harness from the unit and plug it back in. It would happen anywhere from 1 week to 2 months apart.....very random. After 3 times, I returned mine to Grubb's and had it replaced with a refurbed tuner. That's been about 8 months ago and I've had no problems since. Seems they fixed it.

The display in my Titan shows 14 characters, much better than the 10 character display in the coupe.

grubbsperformance.com you choose xm or sirius, the receiver look exactly the same as the xm version, fits the same, works the same.

I've never once had my add-on XM system lock up...not once. Maybe this is only a problem with the Nissan/XM setup?

Same here. I've got the XM Delphi Skyfi2 unit installed. I've had it running nearly everyday for the past 3 weeks and not had one single problem... except for having too many listening choices! I also prefer the add-on unit over the stock XM unit. I get the full text reading of songs and artists along with a lot of cool features not available on the stock XM unit.
