Guys, is the wiring for the Fosgate sub under the driver seat pre-wired? I wondered about this because I thought I could tap in for the speaker signal for an aftermarket sub. do I have to remove the radio and tap into the existing speakers if not?
Thanks Chris

The RF wiring goes from the HU to the amp up under the driver's dash on the firewall, and then to the sub from the amp.
So I assume from your question that you do not have the RF stereo, but are contemplating using pre-wiring for the sub, if it exists. My guess is that in the absence of the RF amp, there would be no signal to any sub wiring under the driver's seat, even if it existed.
I wouldn't wire any aftermarket sub from the OEM sub signal. It's post amplified and gives a horrible signal. You are better off running a LOC from the HU to your aftermarket amp.
so there is no way to just tap the signal off of the factory amps, to add another amp for more subs???
i have a customer that wants to keep his stock system, but he wants to add a 1600watt amp and a custom box. i would think to use a LOC but those dont sound that great either.

Even if you were tapping from the sub line inputs, you'd still be using a LOC or the amps high input (if included) either way your signal is being converted. So if your plan is to use the amps high level (speaker) inputs, do so from the HU (pre OEM amp.) Otherwise expect high noise, distortion, and possibly blowing your amp (speaking from experience.) As Bestatchess said, a quality LOC (installed properly of course) will give you a fine signal, and I'd recommend it over tapping speaker wires and running new wire to your aftermarket amps in the rear.
Has anybody pulled the stock 6-disc out yet? If so, then can you tap the signal from there? I had a head unit in my frontier that had the outputs for the sub, easy as pie to signal the amps. So what do you need to do with a stock radio? I am not educated in the stereo market. I have a rockford sub and punch amp from my frontier ready to install. I think what I did in the past was take the signal from the rear speakers in my old 92 SE-R tie them to the amp high inputs and then run from the amp to the speakers. I just thought that there would already be a signal that I could use under the seat to run the amp without the hassle of pulling the radio. Suggestions?
Chris

Yes there are speaker lines coming from the head unit on all the models. The RF system runs to an oem amp under the steering column above the pedals. Download the AV section of the technical manual for all the wiring diagrams. Everyone here who has kept the stock HU has wired it in this manner. There are wires under the seat for the stock sub, but as I mentioned earlier, you shouldn't use those.

There are no separate sub outputs. I think there are 8 speaker outputs: + and - for front left, front right, right rear, and left rear.
just for everyone's info...using the LOC is a high level input...compared to RCA's witch are low level input...big difference....although with the LOC it will sound alright. but if you had a aftermarket radio with actual low output for you amps...not only do you get better sound, you also get more power from your amp cause it changes the impedence of the amp.....if you can, always use Low Level RCA's....the LOC is work around..that alone should tell you something...later.
I ran my RF sub signal wires straight into my Class D mono amp's high level inputs and it sounded real good and with no distrotion or heat problems. I had my old Bazooka tube gutted and had a Rockford Power sub installed. I was pushing more then a 1000watts RMS and never had a lick of trouble.. I don't have that setup anymore since my current upgrades. You however need a good amp to take the high level signal though. Cheap Best Buy and Circuit City amps will not cut it.
