I'm not an RF fan but it's ok, should be fine for mid grade subs.

I would go with something like this (for a little more$)

OR

If you are still talking about the same RF 10s, I don't think so. It is not a 900 Watt amp. It is either 150 or 300 x 1 depending on whether you are driving 4 or 2 ohms.

look into Linear Power, Us Amps (not us acoustics), PPI maybe...Tru Technology (very underrated and VERY nice), The DD M1 is nice $490 I believe but once you upgrade you'll be happier.

But with smaller subs a maxxbass processor would make more of a diff than a good amp...Depends what you consider mid sized I have an 18" RE MT thats large JL w7's are midsized to me The new RE subs are Large MTX 9500 is midsized. If you own a Semi a 350 Ford Deisel is midsized...

I was basing it on the use of "mid grade" subs and trying to stay within the same budget as the RF. But yeah, if he's got more money then go with the higher end stuff as suggested. No doubt more money spent will typically buy you nicer equipment...but some people do have budgets...imagine that!

Forget RF, Alpine, etc.

Although not nearly as good as their reference and comp amps, this amp will kick that RF and Alpine's @sses and be extremely reliable: http://www.woofersetc.com/product.as...0&1=491&3=3053

NEVER look at an amps MAX rating as it is complete BS...look at the continuous ratings...more indicative of the actual power your speakers will see. Zapco's numbers have always been very conservative unlike most manufacturers.

For two mid level 10" subs you will be slightly underpowered but I dont see how everyone is bashing it. I think you would be okay, but I dont know your exact subs/system/specs/price level. The real key is what level of output you are expecting. If you are trying to shake the 2 cars in front of you it isnt going to happen from 2 mid range 10's with that amp. Do you listen to rap/rock/coutry/etc. will also make a difference. One point to note is that rockford seriously under-rates their amplifier output. It is not at all uncommon to have a RF amp bench tested at over 100-200A rms what it is "speced" at. I think the mono amp will be perfectly adequate. Maybe everyone will say I dont know what I am talking about... but then again my whole system is rockford and I used to sell it, and install it...

Yep I used to think that RF was the best out there. In fact my second set of subs were old Punch 10s...4 of them to be exact...but then again I was only 16-17 yrs. old (back in 1988-89) and was a bit naive. They probably still make decent equipment but for the money there sure are a lot of tremendous subs out there that would bury RFs now.
