Sirius for me! I had both and I must say the channels are better and the sound quality is better. When I had XM some channels had a lower volume and sound quality. With Sirius I don't have that problem. XM is just overrated in my book and folks should give the dog a try!

Sirius. I've had Sirius for 2 years now and am very happy with it. A couple of very good reasons now would be Howard Stern and Mel Karmazin. Imus also said that he may entertain a Sirius contract. XM's 2 satellites are low in the sky so they add lots of repeaters on the ground to boost the signal. Sirius has 3 satellites that have a more direct overhead path and therefore don't have to rely on alot of repeaters on the ground. XM spreads there compression evenly throughout their entire lineup. Sirius uses more compression on their talk lineup and less compression on their music stations. Both sound good and both are much better than FM so you can't go wrong with either. Most of the people at work used to poke fun at me for choosing Sirius over XM. Now that Howard is going to Sirius, they mentioned that they will switch. XM charges for premium shows like Opie & Anthony and Playboy. Sirius doesn't. So the price will be the same if you get 1 premium channel on XM. At the current time if you call 800-52-Stern and mention Howard sent you or put in the code listed on his website you get 3 months free with a year contract.

xm for me. better songs. deeper playlists. yes i hate the differant channel volumes.

everyone is mentioning that stern is with sirius and is free comparred to xm and opie and anthony. For me I never listen to either guys so that is not an issue. i pay the 9.95 a month and get tons more music on xm.

though i'm not advocating the xm either. i like the songs sirius plays too, just seems to be more poplular songs and they dig less into the albums.

the main reason i went xm is MLB. I want to listen to my my cubbies when i travel in the summer.

that and that alone was the single deciding factor. I migh switch to sirius in the future (via dash mount) but who knows.
