Hey guys, thought I would post pics of how I decided to hook up my 1/0 gauge wire to the battery. I used a Stinger battery terminal that has 1 0g, 1 4g, and 2 8g ports. I ran a 4g wire from the terminal to the stock fuse panel that attached to the stock battery terminal. To keep the fuse panel from moving around, I zip-tied it to the battery terminal, which you can see in the last photo.
Yeah my whole truck needs cleaning, but it's been raining for like 3 days straight. I haven't finished routing the 0g wire, not sure where (through the firewall) I'm routing it yet, but probably through the pasenger side somewhere.
Yah, real nice! I have never had enough amp to require 0g. 4 was the largest I went, and to me that was big.
That thing is gonna be a bear to get inside the cab without drilling your own hole or enlarging another one... not to mention running under the carpet to the back of the cab or under a seat where the amp will be. I am guessing there will no doubt be a bulge in the carpet somewhere . I haven't taken the door sills off yet, could be larger opening under there than I expect. Good luck!
IM running 1/0 ga and as long as you run under the white wire harness it routes fine through the cab
may I ask how you ziptied the fuse box in place a little better?? does it move at all??
See the attached photos. The red line is where the zip tie is running. It basically goes under the battery terminal around the terminal post and then around the bolt holding the 4g wire to the fuse box. I was able to get it pretty tight so it really doesn't move much. I can make it move if I forcefully try, but under normal driving conditions I don't think it is going to move at all.
Location: Black Mountain, N.C. with the mountains and winding roads = FUN!!!

So you removed the insulative red cover on the top of the bolt?????? Be very careful when leaning on youur hood there to wash or wax your truck.....or there will be an unlimited amperage short..that will really ruin your day!! Good luck.

Hmm... Good point, I didn't really think of that. I removed it because it no longer fit, but I'll have to rig something up to go over the bolt. I think there is insulation on the underside of the hood in that area too, I'll have to double check. I'll probably cut that bolt down or get a shorter one also.

You could just go to any auto parts store and buy the appropriately sized Vacume Plug to fit over that bolt. The rubber won't cause any arcing if the hood does contact.. But your idea of cutting it down is probably more effective.
Also, I have seen stuff at the hardware store that is a rubber dip, like what you have on the handles of your needle-nose pliers.. That soft rubber coating.
You can buy different colored cans of this "rubber dip" and dip the bolt or the new Stinger terminal (even though it looks too good now to do that too) and that would also prevent arcing if the hood contacts.
Stinger actually makes a clear plastic cover that fits over their battery terminal, so I'll probably order one of those. I checked again and there is quite a bit of clearance between the end of the bolt and the bottom of the hood from what I can tell, but it would still be a good idea to cover it with something. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
