Queston about Chrome Step Rails

Hey, you guys with the Chrome Step Rails, what brand are yall using? Did your step rails work with the predrilled holes on your Titan for the stocks or did yall have to drill other holes in your titan?

I have Luverne polished stainless steprails installed on my King Cab. Factory holes and studs were used. They also make them for the Crew Cab. www.luvernetruck.com . You can find them o Ebay. Hope this helps.

I would recommend the polished stainless. That way you wont have to worry about the chrome chipping. The polished stainless look good.

Luverne

Hello 4FV.
Thanks for the Luverne tip. I had a nice conversation with a sales manager today. I was impressed with the promptness of his returned phone call. Found a distributor close to home who quoted the same prices as I have seen on the internet. I will probably place my order tomorrow.
A few questions. The installation instructions look straight forward. Were there any surprises that you experienced?
I noticed that you listed that you installed wood trim on your dash. Who was the vendor and did you experience any problems with the install? Any problems since?
Many thanks for the info.

I used Weatin Oval Chrome Bars. The install kit is on backorder. However, I was able to us 1/4 inch carriage bolts and use the OEM brackets. Everything lined up great. So good in fact, I am going to cancel the order for the install kit.

Agreed, I wouldn't have chrome. Before getting my aluminum powder coated Nissan step tubes, I looked at my co-workers factory and aftermarket chrome side step tubes. The chrome side step tubes had oval rust stains on them, that being the main reason why I hate chrome. I would get a powder coated finish as it will hold up better to scratches and it will not be prone to show rust as bad.

Have a good one.

I just got these off of e-bay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

They are Aries Off-Road brand. I have a crew cab. The bars ar oval shaped, and straight (no curve towards the body). Mounted w/ included brackets and hardware w/o drilling. Included instructions are a bit vague and hard to see. But after I figured out the drivers side in about and hour, the passenger side took 20 mins.

Sprokit,
The Luverne steprails were easy to install, no problems. It took me 2 hours to install the wood dash kit. If you decide to do it, go with Sherwood Dash kits. Do a search using wood dash as keywords. The Kits use 3M heavy duty tape adhesive. I had one installed in another vehicle and had it for 6 years without any problem. Make sure to follow cleaning instructions before installing.

Luverne

Thanks for the info 4FV. I ordered the Luverne's yesterday and they should be here by the end of the week. It looks like a pretty simple install.
If you ever ge the time, could you post some pictures of your interior? I'm really curious as how the wood trim dresses up the cabin.
Many thanks.

I have I.C.I. polished stainless steel nerf bars and they have been great. I had a set of them on my 2000 Ram and they were nice also. However, having seen some of the bars that have a wider stepping area, i might have tried one of them had i seen them first.

Thumbs up Luverne...thanks for the tip 4FV

Well, I received and installed the Luverne stainless nerf bars. Thanks for the tip, 4FV. Absolutely painless installation. The mounting brackets come with the bars. (I was contemplating the Westins, but seeing all the folks with back ordered mounting brackets, I stayed away.) It uses the body mount bolts, so there is no hassle what so ever. I installed mine out in the cold NE weather (28 degrees), and it took 30 minutes (both sides!). They look great and the Mrs. certainly likes the easier step into the cab. In fact, given the expected bad weather tomorrow, she has announced that she is taking the Titan to work.
Again, thanks for the tip. This site has saved me considerable headaches over the past three months!
