Does anybody know the max. depth for the front door speakers?
I am a big Boston fan and I am interested if the SL65's would fit, they are
6 1/2 inch speakers and are almost 2 1/2 inches deep.

I've got Polk Momo MM6500's up front (2.75" mounting depth) and MM650's in the rear doors (2.5" mounting depth). They fit in place just fine and sound great.
I don't have a Titan yet so I can't go check in the driveway, where are the stock tweeter mounts and are they an easy install?
What kind of room is there for aftermarket tweeters?
Sometimes the factory units are pretty small.
I have an old set of Boston RC51's which are components that I took out of an old truck so I could put those in. They are only 5 1/4 inch but I will be putting a sub in so that would help out. Where did you put the crossovers?
Not sure what the speaker mount depth is in the doors, but it's pretty freakin deep. There is a stock spacer that moves the stock 6X9 speaker out at least 2.5 inches, and you've still got a couple of more inches into the door before the window glass. I'd say it's over 4 inches of mounting depth, but don't quote me on that. Replacing with new 6X9's is pretty easy, but with 6.5's your going to need a bracket or some kind of custom work. But the good news is, there's lots of space there, you can even put in some 8's.
For the dash speakers, I used my dremel to cut up the stock dash speaker (2"?), and mounted my new MB Quart tweeters onto the stock speaker's frame, and secured it with zipties and dynomat. Speakers are just attatched with plastic trim pins, easy pop out and pop back in. The dash grilles pop off easy as well. Stock dash speakers just sit on top of the dash, easy to get to. I'd say you could fit any 2" or smaller tweeter in there, mounting depth is pretty much unlimited, you can almost stick your whole arm up in there from under the dash. You might even be able to mount up a 3", but it would take some cutting of the dash, not recommened.

Here's a pic of the dash, and the tweets I mounted up and the stock tweeter I cut apart. Looks a little rough, but it works! The speaker has a bracket on the back of it as well, the ziptie just there for a little extra support.

Wow, it sounds like I have all kinds of options.
Even though I have my old RC51's, I went to check out some new Boston's and they have a nice 6 X 9 that should work great, they did not have the 6 X 9 in stock but they did have a 6 1/2 with the same tweeter and they sounded very good.
I am anxious to hear the 6 X 9's because they actually have two of the same tweeters in each 6 X 9.
Surprisingly, the 6 X 9's have a better efficiency rating than the 6 1/2's,
why would that be? The 6 1/2's are 90db and 6X9's are 92db.

The stock 6x9s in front are mounted on a plastic baffle that looked like a rattle trap to me. I had originally bought a 6x9 to 6.5 adapter from crutchfeld that fit the stock 6x9 plastic baffle, but didn't fit my new speakers. I mounted my new 6.5s by making mounting plates out of mdf. After installing sound deadening mat, I bolted the mdf plates to the door, using bolts with nuts on the inside of the door (rather than the stock screws). This makes a much more solid mounting than the OEM plastic. And yes, there is plenty of room for 2.5" mounting depth. I also used some foam baffles (speaker cups) from crutchfield to keep the water inside the door off the speakers. With the window down and the door panel off and the stocker speaker & plastic baffle removed, you can measure the distance (depth) to the window glass, and thus determine the thickness of mdf required.
I can't remember exactly what I used for the fronts. I am thinking it was one sheet of 3/4 and one sheet of 1/2, as that is what I used for the rear doors and I put the same speakers in the fronts.
