Are we Sat Ready??

This is probably a very easy question. However, I couldn't find the answer searching and my dealer couldn't answer (weird, huh).

I have the Rockford Fosgate Package, are our Titans Sattelite ready??? I was looking at just having one of the antennas and receivers installed, but none of the electronics place could answer the question and neither could the dealers. I thought it was a simple one.

If we are Sat ready, can I use either XM or Sirius (spelt wrong??)?? Thanks for the info guys. No one seems to be able to answer the questions, or maybe I'm not asking correctly.

Scott,

What I have 'learned' thus far is...

We are XM/Sirius ready BUT...

Because Nissan is using the N-Bus connection, we have to go with the 'installed' variety (Box under the dash) that comes from Nissan/Infinity to be able to use the functionality in the head units we have in the Titan.

Which means...we can't use the universal box, Pioneer, Clarion varieties etc...Must use the Nissan one that runs $4?? for the kits.

As for your diff...as long as it is full with fluid, I don't think you'll have any more issues...we had put another 19k on the last 04 and had not a worry.
Congrats on getting your truck back.

Chris

Scott, You'll find the answers to your questions in my posts today. The first thing you need to do is look on your door jamb and see if there's a sticker saying your vehice is prewired for satellite radio. If there isn't any sticker, that doesn't really mean much. You should physically look under the dash and if it's prewired, you should see a white electrical plug approx 1/2" x 1 1/4". It will be hard to spot, but should be about directly above the gas pedal and a little toward the driver seat (rear). You can get the Nissan tuners for less than $300 now. The splitters can be found at BestBuy, along with the small antennas. Either XM or Sirius will work with the Rockford Fosgate.

Any idea if they'll (Sirius,XM) will work on the standard non RF system? Mine is the 6 CD changer with steering wheel controls I'd like to keep.

garo, I don't know the answer to that one, but I'd guess you'll find there's no pre-wire or harness available for the non-RF systems. Maybe someone else has the definitive answer for this?

I would like to hear from anyone who has actually installed a Sirius unit in a RF LE (6 CD changer) system. I have been told repeatedly by Nissan that only the XM will work in the Titan.

Yes it will work with your system, any that have 6 disk are wired for sat.

I have an SE with the RF 6-disc. OEM Sirius tuner and Terk-Mini antenna w/splitter installed with factory brackets. Works like a charm.

Antenna is routed along drivers side floor under the plastic trim and out the 3rd brake light.

Hi Scott, check out Grubbs Performance. They're affiliated with a Nissan dealer (same name) in Texas. They sell Nissan and Infinity OEM accessories. At least one other member got a Sirius from them. I haven't done this mod yet, but likely will when the weather warms up. Also mentioned here a couple weeks ago was a new Terk antenna for Sirius that sticks to the inside of the windshield or back window. One of the posts had the actual part number. Do some searches here, and you'll find this info.

XM Radio ready?

I have a couple of questions about XM in 04 Titan w/ RF 6 cd changer

I think I have the plug as described in Daltongc Post, does that mean that all I need is the Nissan Xm tuner Kit? My current RF does not have a "SAT" button , so Do I have to get an RF radio with "Sat" button?

What does the Nissan XM 999U9-NV003 include?
