OK first the factory side mounting brackets will only attach to the front two or the back two holes on the unit. depending which ones I use depends if it sticks out to the dash hole or sits flush. Which are we using? Also someone posted that the speed sensor wire was the #24 on a 24 pin plug...The diagram states the wire is at the cluster and its white/red stripe. Well there is a wht/red wire in that connector, its #1. I just want to be sure so I donty have to pull this thing out to make changes. Any help would be nice.
That's all you need is just two holes on each side thats plenty of support. I think thats how my ddx7015 was when I had it but don't remember.. There is a thread on the speed sensor wire that ZYPLOT did that has the correct wire. Seach his posts and you will have the right wire but remember to read the entire post because he doe's have the wrong wire at first then someone corrects him with right wire..

The diagram for the RF system without navigation indicates the speed sensor wire is W/R and on pin 24 of connector M98 that plugs into the A/V switch. The other end of that wire is on pin 29 of connector M24 which plugs into the combination meter.
As to the position of the mounting ears: I used a single DIN radio in my install and need to modify the mounting kit to get a proper fit. As I remember the dimension it is just a little more (about 1/32 inch) than 2 and 1/2 inches from the rear of the mounting ears to the front edge of the radio. This permits the front edge of the radio to fit against the rear edge of the double DIN bezel.

So behind the radio what color is it and which connector is it in? Also I run into a new problem, the rear steel brace is in the way of my unit going in. What do I do?
Sent you a PM on the fit issue.. As for the connectors and wires do you have the service manual? If not I can send the audio/video section to you if you have high speed and can accept big downloads...

PM your email to me!! As for the AV switch thats referring to the faceplate I believe so there should be a wire that is white with a red stripe that should be your speed sensor wire... The M98 is at the AV switch I believe maybe eakes will pipe in!!

M98 plugs into the rear of the HU assembly, it is a 24 pin connector. Pins 1 and 2 of that connector have a yellow and a violet wire. Pin 1 is yellow and is 12 VDC all the time, pin 2 is violet and has 12 VDC switched with the ignition. Pin 24 is at the opposite end in the same row as pin 2. W/R should be a white wire with a red stripe.
I gave up, too dark and the woman wants me to help paint the dining room, I will post pics when its done. I have alot to post. My Tonneau cover, short shifter, full system.
