Opinion on Pyle monitor

First off, I'm new to the forum and have enjoyed reading through the post so far. I've gotten a lot of good ideas from you that I'd like to try. I want to upgrade to a double DIN monitor like I've seen some of you guys have done. Thing is I've only seen three on the market right now, the Eclipse (way out of my price range), Kenwood (which a lot of you have), and the Pyle PLDT-VN65. So far the Pyle and the Kenwood seem very similar in features from what I can tell with the exception of the expandability the Kenwood has. The most entising thing to me the the significant price difference between the two (Pyle availible for around $800) and I think the Pyle unit looks just as good. My question is what do you guys think of the brand and it's reliability? I know a lot of the product these days are manufactured by some of the same companies but don't really know anything about Pyle products.

Don't buy a PYLE the name says it all pile of crap!! Very low end!! Buy the Kenwood if money is a huge factory and if you must have double din. You can get the Kenwood for around 800-900 bones if you shop around!!

where?

I've been shopping around and the lowest price I've seen for the Kenwood is about $1200. I'm just wondering why you say the Pyle is a pile of crap though. Other than name brand it's still an $800 TV that plays most of the formats out there today. I wish I could see one in person just to see the quality of it.

I have been around Car Audio for a long time and you don't buy PYLE.. They are very low end brand on the same line as Kraco, Sparkomatic, Roadmaster, Dual and etc etc. The Kenwood will be a better choice with better specs and longer life. If you want to see how bad PYLE is go to www.the12volt.com and then go the forums and ask the professionals or search for Pyle products on there.. Again stay away from Pyle!!!

This website below is where I get all my stuff. They back there products up with the Manufacturer warranty and get there products straight from the Manufacturer. They will also beat or meet any price on the internet.. If you call them up they will come down the price they always do!!! This is a great site with great people I have never gotten anything from these guys I didn't like..

Thanks

I've been around car audio for a while myself and have always bought mid to high end product, but in the last year I started purchasing low end equiptment and have found that for the price most of the products really weren't that bad. Thing is I've never bought Pyle and wasn't sure on that particular brand. I value your opinion and will more than likely take your advice on this one because of the amount of money involved. Thanks for the link to the site. I've visited woofersetc plenty of times, but have never bought from them. Might have to give them a call and see what they can do for me. Thanks again.

I used to run an electronics repair shop out of a car audio center, and as lizard king says, Pyle is a pile. You often see their stuff at these roving "computers for $5" expos held at convention centers.

BTW lizard king, my father lives in Saylorsburg and I went to Pocono Mountain as a kid. Used to spend a lot of time being bored at the Stroud Mall. My sister went to ESSU. Where in Stroudsburg are you?

As lizard said, Pyle is well known as the "bottom of the pyle" for their equipment. Very much a flea market product that sells only because it is cheap. Stay away or you will end up wasting $800!

So lizard, where in Iowa are you from? I'm originally from Ely (near Cedar Rapids) but am now a resident in Texas. Please tell me you are a Hawks fan and not a Cyclone.
