Canoe Rack

Anyone build a home made canoe rack for their Titan? Looking for some ideas to build one. I don't have the utilitrack package.

I have the track sys, but anything I think up won't seem to work with my 17 ft. canoe. Either hangs over the front or the back to far. The bed in the CC is just too small and the racks would be too close together for my canoe. Considered removing the recovery hooks and buiilding something using their mounting holes. Last thing you want is your canoe flying off your truck @ 70 mph on a crowded interstate. Any ideas folks would be great.
