Question SWIX IR install and pics needed

I was wondering if anyone could post pics of how their SWIX was mounted, and also offer a walk through. Take all of the guess work of the wires and where to drill the hole.

Ozzy I would post pics but mine doesn't work in it's current location (between shifter and cup holders) I'm going to move it to the front of the arm rest/storage compartment as soon as the weather warms up. I will take pics of all the locations I have tried this week if ya like.

That would be awesome. I plan to use the SWIX, and know people have posted about the subject, but no pics. I figured pics would help me avoid making unnecessary holes.

By the way, your not in the Air Force are you? Your Avatar gives it away. If you are on Langley, I could just take a look at your install, and can also recommend someone to help with the bad holes.

I mounted my IR in the radio bezel, just below the radio install kit. Check the following thread for all the info you will need as well as a pic.

Steering wheel controls w/ after market stereo

The wiring is simple. In that thread there is a link to the instructions for the Titan. Just follow those and mount your IR emitter as shown in the picture in that thread and you shouldn't have any problems. That's what I did and everything works great!

Hey Ozzy, No I’m not at Langley - currently at Tinker, but your still welcome to drive on down and take a look!
As for my current location I have attached a pic of the front and you can see the IR sitting right on top of the HU between the frame and bezel, not a perm location but works for now, I will probably drill a hole just above where it is now and locate it there. The other two locations I tried are the round plug right in font of the shifter markers on the console and in the center of that same console right before the large cup holder. The front location is a cap for something? So I can replace that at the stealer, as for my second hole I’m not sure what I’m going to do to fill that in, don’t want to bondo and paint...yet!
Good luck with your install, I hope this help a little, if you have any other? feel free to PM me.

Here ya go. Works fine in all but direct sunlight. However, that is only when windows are down and sun is directly on it. Tinted windows help
