Question Installing visor monitor???

Where would I tie it in to my OEM DVD system? Any other equipment needed? What about sound, can the IR transmitter be repeated up front? If nothing is needed but the monitor, it seems like the cheapest way to get video for the front passenger.

IR will not work up front. Line of sight only.

Yea, I read that in another thread. I was wondering if anyone tried a repeater, or possibly wired in a second transmitter.

The screen in my biggest question. I'm hoping it can be wired in to the overhead screen with no additional equipment.

I have a visor monitor. Starvision 7" widescreen w/ IR transmitter. Im not familiar with the OEM DVD unit, I cant really tell you where to hook up the cables since Im using a PS2 for its gaming and DVD capabilities. If the OEM unit have A/V RCA connectors to your existing monitor. All you need to do is get 3 y-port RCA adaptors and link both monitors to the DVD unit. If your visor does not come with IR transmitter, you can prolly get a IR dome transmitter and tap it to the rear IR console or in-line with the audio wires in the DVD unit. Remote IR domes do require power (12v) for it to work, I think.

just my 2 pennies,
Wil
